DSP Design Verification Engineer

Position Description

Key member of the Tensilica DSP team within Cadence, responsible for design verification of DSP based hardware products as part of families of Tensilica DSPs and hardware accelerators, targeting various application domains such as computer vision, AR/VR, audio/voice, Radar, AI or ADAS/AD.

Be part of an agile team with experts in DSP architecture, design, implementation, and HW/SW verification. Gain understanding of the DSP algorithms and mathematical functions being implemented. As a member of the project leadership team, the Design Manager (DM) is responsible for the timely development of the project design and its alignment with the project execution plan. As the project execution plan includes client expectations, scope of work packaging, delivery methods, cost budget, sequence of work, quality expectations, and planned schedule, the Design Manager establishes and manages processes on their projects to build and maintain alignment between the design and these project objectives. As design documents are not the design itself, but rather a snapshot in time of particular project design aspects, the Design Manager’s key points of interface start with the designers themselves at the outset of the project.   

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary depending upon project type, location, delivery method, phase of project engagement, and DPR team experience, skills and capacity.

• Facilitate and advise design team selections and teaming agreement negotiations.

• Set up and manage the internal DPR bulletin review process to provide feedback to design teams before we accept and distribute drawings/changes to subcontractors This is for everything up to IFC but also after – bulletin acceptance criteria and setting up and coordinating the Bulleting review (QC) meetings internally with DPR team.
• Develop and manage an accountable design change decision-making and change management process that enables timely design production and proactively informs the client of cost and schedule consequences for late decisions.
• Implement DPR’s Design Acceptance Criteria (DAC) process – Collaboratively and proactively managing quality into the design with the architect, and into DPR’s Quality Control (QC) plan; creating design acceptance criteria with design teams for Basis of Design (BOD), non-traditional design packages, traditional SD, DD, CD packages, RFI’s and supplemental post-Issue For Construction (IFC) Bulletins.

Experience / Skills

• Proven successful experience in Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), Design/Build and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in the design and construction phases.

• Collaborate with the PM team in creating MVP such that all relevant items for customer acceptance are covered; This would include deployment scenarios and integration with 3rd party components
• Test Early Access and Technology Release code from engineering by deploying all components in the lab for customer experience, completeness of features/capabilities and completeness of documentation
• Validate use cases with Early Access and Technical Release code and identify if the code is on the path to meet the customer MVP
• Own the whole creation and dissemination of validated reference designs (VRDs), POC guidance templates (suggestions on how to create a PoC with the use case) and notes on how to respond to RFPs
• Compile a set of reference guides of A10 DDoS use cases and architectural deployments
• Own product and scale sizing to ensure proper sizing of A10 detection and mitigation solutions in customer environments

ARGOS provides a reduced gravity environment used for engineering analysis, astronaut trials, and training for space operations in microgravity or lower gravity on a Lunar or planetary surface. An astronaut or robot is strapped into the ARGOS harness so that the system offloads the effects of Earth’s gravity. This will support NASA’s deep-space exploration initiative and the return to the moon and on to Mars. The engineer will support the ARGOS upgrades from conception, design, analysis, manufacturing, through to operational test and certification for operations.
