Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £22,823 - £23,280 (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

Our Performing Arts curriculum area offers a range of courses from Level 1 to Level 3. Including Acting, Musical Theatre & Dance. Successful applicants must have relevant prior experience working within education settings and be able to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviours for the role.
As a Performing Arts & Theatre Technician, you should:
• Hold a relevant Degree in Performing Arts or a relevant discipline, including Level 2 English and Maths

Key Responsibilities



- Helping steer the Agile Release Train (ART) by working with the Product Managers and Release Train Engineer’s (RTE’s) to provide the necessary guidance to the train.
- Working Proactively with the Enterprise Architect to ensure alignment between both the ART and the organisation’s technology landscape and target state architecture.
- Ensuring system design evolves whilst considering both the practical reality of implementation and architectural intent.
- Interacting and collaborating with the system team, alongside shared services. The goal of this is to establish optimal architectures and processes for system testing and integration.
- Providing critical insights, keeping a close connection to the technological and implementation capabilities of the Train in question.
- Defining Nonfunctional Requirements whilst ensuring that Enterprise Architecture will support these NFRs.
- Participate In Solution Definition – Provide critical insights, keeping a close connection to the technological and implementation capabilities of the Train in question.
- Develop end to end solution designs to meet the needs of our engineering workforce, customers and asset management teams.
- Align Architectural Intent with Implementation – Ensure Alignment of expectations expressed in the architectural vision and the reality of the team’s skills, capacity, skills and more, as relevant.





Skills and Experience

Relevant qualifications and certifications for System Architecture or Solution Architecture.

Relevant Agile training and certification.

Demonstrable experience of defining and maintaining an end to end solution design that covers processes, data, security, people and technology. Working with enterprise architecture, business stakeholders and development teams to ensure the right design is in place, is understood, evolved and followed to deliver high quality business outcomes that adhere to IT standards and strategies.

Agile delivery experience preferably following Scaled Agile Framework.

Proven experience of designing, implementing and extending enterprise grade COTS solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering innovative and effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Main Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an Electrical / Mechanical Design Engineer to join our small Engineering team. You will be responsible for
designing and producing electrical schematics and mechanical equipment layouts for control and distribution panels through to
commissioning and providing technical Support for operational employees and external customers.




You will be based at our site in Coventry working and reporting to the Design Engineering Manager. There is the opportunity to
work a hybrid work pattern.




Main Responsibilities:

* To design and produce electrical schematics and mechanical layout details for control and distribution panels.
* Produce mechanical steelwork fabrication designs.
* Provide technical support for operational employees and external customers
* Project Management of each job – design, technical, purchasing, quality, after care support and testing
* Apply knowledge, skill and experience to design and implementation of new innovative solutions
* Work to and maintain the production schedule
* Carry out contract reviews as per the requirements of the quality procedure
* Ensure all activities undertaken are fully compliant with quality management system and in accordance with health and safety
requirements




Essential Criteria

* Qualified to HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical design – (or equivalent experience)
* Creation of electrical schematics and mechanical fabrication details using AutoCad.
* Creation of Bills Of Materials and purchase lists
* Excellent commercial knowledge and application
* Experience in product design lifecycle – from concept to introduction into manufacturing (ideally in safety critical industry)
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Passion for producing innovative design solutions




Desirable Criteria

* Experience / knowledge of rail industry
* PTS Holder
* Project Management Experience highly desirable

You will support and guide the Architectural Runway Strategy as well as providing strategic technical direction across various teams.




Key Responsibilities



- Leading on the strategy for building and maintaining the architectural runway. Additionally, closely collaborate with System Architects and the Agile Team to guide the evolution of solutions, existing code, and technical infrastructure needed to implement near-term features without the use of excessive redesign and delay.
- Helping to realise the architectural vision which in turn allows for the Agile Teams to design, implement, test, and deliver value ensuring Built-In quality, whilst ensuring designed solutions continue to align with the broader technical vision.
- Leading, mentoring, supporting and developing our team of Enterprise and System Architects (up to 7 direct reports).
- Actively engaging with System Architects, ensuring all design choices are made with an understanding of the overall architectural strategy and roadmap, minimising technology complexity and avoiding unnecessary duplication of solutions or capabilities.
- Working alongside LPM to determine technology direction. Also working to define and communicate the architectural roadmap, ensuring business needs are constantly met and investments are used in the right areas.
- Working with Agile Teams and System Architects to help reuse code and existing design patterns to implement technology functionality and new business functionality.
- Supporting with synchronising various disciplines across solutions, including, but not limited to, system and data security and quality, solution user experience, nonfunctional requirements and more.
- Utilising the future systems design to influence the organisational design, specifically when identifying value streams and optimising teams within an Agile Release Train.






Skills and Experience




- Experience leading a team
- Relevant qualifications and certifications for Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF or OOA)
- Relevant Agile training and certification
- Demonstrable experience of defining and maintaining an enterprise-wide view of enterprise architecture including as-is architecture, target state architecture and an architecture roadmap.
- Experience working with business owners, product managers and products teams to understand strategic objectives and IT priorities to shape the IT portfolio investment priorities and the portfolio roadmap.
- Agile delivery experience preferably following Scaled Agile Framework

Role title: Service Design Lead
Salary: £45,000-£50,000
Location: UK based - remote with occasional (fully expensed) office visits

Do you have experience of working at management level on the implementation and ongoing operational delivery of comparable contracts? If so, then consider the role of Service Design Lead with Reed in Partnership.

Reed in Partnership is a public service provider delivering a range of services that transform people and their communities. These services are delivered across our Assessment, Employability, Wellbeing, Citizen Services and Environment divisions.

Our Reed Assessment division, a national provider of trusted and secure testing and assessments, is planning for the significant expansion of its testing operations during 2024. We are currently bidding for the delivery, on behalf of the Standards and Testing Agency (STA), of Key Stage 1 & 2 testing to all Primary School students in England. Securing this multi-million pound contract would see Reed Assessment responsible, directly and through its supply chain partners, for the production, distribution, marking and moderating of all key stage tests across Primary Schools.

We are now looking to build an experienced implementation and delivery team ready to successfully mobilise this contract from April 2024. Please note this is a Fixed term contract for 18.5 months starting in April 2024.

Please note, expensed travel including potential overnight stays will be expected at key points of the implementation cycle, the frequency of which will vary.

What is the role about?

The Service Design Lead will take a leading role in ensuring that Reed in Partnership’s company standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of Implementation. The Service Design Lead is responsible for leading on the service design elements of Implementation from contract award to contract commencement. You will lead on the day-to-day ‘Service Design’ workstream during the mobilisation of the contract and will have full responsibility for this element of Implementation. The Service Design Lead will directly manage a Service Design Executive, working alongside other key internal and external stakeholders to ensure we have a full-service solution for the contract.

As Service Design Lead, you will manage and be part of an expert team which take the lead on these activities. It is a varied role which will encompass the responsibility of leading and managing a team with focus on Service design activities to successfully deliver on our commitments. When required you may also lead contact with the commissioner and other external stakeholders throughout the implementation.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include;

• Taking a lead on identification of training requirements for the contract, ensuring the creation of documentation and delivery key training materials to new starters and existing staff
• Developing innovative Operational Delivery Models in conjunction with internal stakeholders, through the creation of process flows, discussion with key departments, and contractual documentation
• Identifying improvements and best practice throughout the contract implementation process
• Ensuring that all activities are executed in accordance with quality and compliance requirements.
• Ensuring that contractual detail, bid specification and submission details and provider guidance has been transferred by the team into workable operational delivery documentation, developing the training material.
• Identifying best practice examples to build Implementation solutions via building a strong rapport and delivery knowledge with all Workstream departments.
• Designing and testing new delivery methodology to improve performance and productivity.
• Working closely with the Business Development team in understanding bid requirements and any USP solutions required.
• Designing operational guidance and process materials, and developing additional operational assets and tools where required.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with;

Essential Criteria:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
• Experience of working at management level on the implementation and ongoing operational delivery of comparable contracts
• A sound understanding of financial, contractual and risk management methods.
• Strong IT skills (ideally including) knowledge of MS Visio
• Excellent visual communication and experience translating complex information into diagrammatic form.
• Experience in the delivery of complex information to teams in presentation and/or training sessions/briefings
• Experience of Service design methodology and be able to produce detailed service delivery models for customer journeys on our programmes that are deliverable.
• Understanding of contractual delivery ideally gained via service design or management/technical/specialist/supervisory role.
• Ability to liaise effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience of direct line management of a team, including remote working and effective performance management
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK to support implementation.
