Position Overview:

This position is responsible for maintaining safety and security for the members of the Carleton community and the physical property of Carleton College.  In addition, security personnel are the first call for help in medical emergencies, criminal emergencies, and after-hour maintenance problems. 

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Medical/Psychological Emergencies: Provide emergency first aid treatment and triage for all medical and psychological emergencies. Provide transportation as needed. Notify Carleton College administrators of emergency medical and/or psychological emergencies when appropriate.
• Criminal Emergencies: Provide first response to criminal emergencies on Carleton College property.  Conduct on-campus investigations into criminal incidents Notify appropriate law enforcement agencies for violations of state, local, and federal laws.  Also notify appropriate Carleton College administrators, Carleton College and/or Rice County counseling and/or support services when necessary.
• Fire, Intrusion, Mechanical, Emergency Telephones, and Panic Alarms: Provide emergency response to all fire, intrusion, mechanical, and panic alarms and contact appropriate personnel for assistance when necessary.  Assist Residential Life staff in conducting fire drills each term.  Conduct tests of Emergency Telephones and AEDs on a monthly basis. 
• Carleton College Policies and Procedures: Enforce and investigate violations of Carleton College policies and procedures as stated in the “Student Handbook”.  Provide emergency notification of appropriate Carleton College administrators of policies and procedures violations when necessary.
• Provide notification to campus community via the CarlAlert Mass Notification System of emergencies/potential emergencies (e.g., tornado warning) on/near campus.
• Physical Security: Provide physical security for all Carleton College buildings and/or property.  Follow routine locking and unlocking procedures for academic and administrative buildings.   Provide locking and unlocking services and maintenance checks for all student-housing facilities during break periods.
• Access Control System and Video Surveillance systems: Monitor and respond to access control alarm activity.  Issue access control badges after hours.  Conduct investigations and verifications.  Utilize access control system software.  Run alarm activity reports as needed.  Report system malfunctions to system administrators.
• Maintenance Emergencies: Provide response to after-hours maintenance requests for college owned buildings and property.  When unable to correct maintenance problems, the Security Officer is responsible for notifying appropriate maintenance personnel.
• Custodial Emergencies: Respond to and take corrective action for after-hours custodial services emergency calls. 
• Building Access Control: Provide access control to high security areas on campus.  Provide access control for persons wanting to gain access to academic buildings after hours.  Provide emergency lockout assistance for all residential halls, off-campus college owned student, faculty, and staff housing.  Provide general locking and unlocking services for all campus facilities.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

• Parking Enforcement and Traffic Control: Enforce parking regulations on property owned or leased by Carleton College.  Issue citations, assess fines, and authorize towing of vehicles parked in violation of an established parking regulation.  Direct traffic at special events as necessary.
• Provide emergency assistance for fleet vehicles.
• Assist with Guest House Management after hours: Assist guests with climate control, custodial, room key, and transportation problems.
• Provide safe escort services for all students, faculty, and staff.  Write detailed reports of all incidents occurring during shift.  Complete Maintenance Requests Forms for maintenance problems discovered during shift. 
• Provide information to students, faculty, staff, and visitors as requested.
• Establish and maintain trust and confidence within the campus community, outside law enforcement agencies and the surrounding neighborhood.

Describe Supervision Received and Exercised:

This position does not exercise direct supervision. This position reports to the Director of Security and Emergency Management.

Education/Experience/Skills (supported by job duties):

Required:  

• EMT, EMR (First Responder),  certification, or enrolled in a certification course at the time of application.
• Basic computer skills required 
• Driver’s license and ability to be insured by the College

Preferred:  

• Associate or higher degree in related field
• Security experience in a college/university setting

Physical Demands or Working Environment requirements:

This role is part of the NCR VOYIX’s Digital First Banking Information Security team. This team is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining NCR VOYIX’s Digital First Banking information security program. The primary goal of the program is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources. Key information security functions and activities include architecture and design for NCR VOYIX information security controls, developing and enforcing policies and standards, security awareness training, risk management, assessment, and testing, monitoring and metrics, incident management, threat and vulnerability management, and fraud. This role is focused on analyzing, protecting, and reporting financial fraud and supporting recommendations to mitigate and reduce fraud risk.

The Information Security Engineer II will be responsible for the day-to-day activities required to analyze fraud telemetry shared by clients and security tools, generate client facing analysis reports, and lead discussions related to fraud analysis with clients. The Information Security Engineer I will work in a collaborative manner with other business, engineering, and security teams to ensure fraud-related events are managed and communicated in accordance with NCR VOYIX’s corporate policy.  At times there may be a limited need to work on the on-call rotation including working off hours/weekends and respond to ad-hoc requests as part of this position. The Information Security Engineer I will work to continuously improve our fraud security processes and analysis as cyberthreats continuously evolve and the need to adapt to protect NCR VOYIX and our customers increases. This position requires the applicant to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment as the detection and protection from fraud requires a timely response and communication to reduce the risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring and reporting malicious activity trends in our online solutions and transactions.
• Automating current fraud detections, reporting and processes.
• Innovate and develop new fraud detections, reporting and processes.
• Remediating risks and attacks, responding quickly to the new and emerging threats.
• Maintaining integrations between third-party fraud and security tools.
• Working with other teams on improving our fraud security posture.
• Develop integrations between third-party tools, transactional systems, and fraud technologies.
• Fraud subject matter expert by providing the best service to internal teams and clients.

Skills and Qualifications

• 3 years of work experience in cybersecurity and/or financial fraud roles.
• Interest in and knowledge of the latest trends in fintech fraud and other threats.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of/experience with SIEM tools (preferably Splunk) both as a user and administrator.
• Knowledge of/experience with WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Akamai or similar).
• Experience working in cloud environments (preferably GCP).
• Experience creating queries in SQL or other database query languages.
• Experience developing and supporting code in Python, Bash or other scripting languages for process and data automation.
• Experience developing and tailoring documentation and fraud guidance based on audience.
• Ability to assimilate, understand and utilize various security and fraud technologies.
• Ability and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
• Excellent English language proficiency both written and verbal.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present highly technical topics to a non-technical audience in a collaborative manner.
• Experience in fintech infosec and financial fraud fields.
• Understanding of data pipelines implementation in cloud environments.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel (VBA is a plus).
• Knowledge of NIST Cyber Security Framework, MITRE ATT&CK Framework.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides security for patients, employees, and visitors; initiates appropriate investigation and follows up.  Protects hospital buildings, assets and premises as assigned.  Responds to and addresses suspicious activity and de-escalates volatile situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Patrol assigned areas, monitoring the facility and activity to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.

• On a daily workday basis, take part in pre-shift and post-shift briefings to remain current and up to date with recent security events and incidents. Actively participate in this exchange of information at the beginning and completion of each tour of duty.

• Document daily activity and security responses during a work shift through the use of a thorough and complete daily activity log.

• Respond to requests for Security to resolve emergency situations, investigate suspicious activity, de-escalate volatile situations, and take appropriate action as directed by Security Department supervisory personnel, the Nursing Supervisor or the Administrator on-call for the hospital.

• Assess situations and determine when to appropriately restrain individuals- for example, determine and administer appropriate use of handcuffs.

• Investigate, document and resolve security related incidents. Report abuses of hospital equipment or property to the proper authority. Complete and maintain records, notes, incident reports and other documents related to Security Department activity.

• Respond to all intra-facility specialized alarms and Condition Codes as may be required.

• Conduct regular security checks/audits of Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health (LGH) properties and grounds during non-business hours.

• Monitor all hospital premises, grounds and parking facilities for security concerns and any potential safety hazards.

• Monitor all parking areas and associated traffic flow on Lancaster General property.

• Investigate reports of unauthorized persons on hospital property

• Assist staff with unruly visitors and patients

• Assist with training and orientation of new Security staff.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:  

• Make appropriate recommendations to Security Supervisors and management on methods to effectively improve the Security function.

• Create and participate in crime prevention initiatives in a team effort to pro-actively address security related issues or problems before they occur.

• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Basic and Advance  certification Program.

• Current basic CPR/AED certification.

• Ability to interact with a wide variety of people from many diverse cultures and backgrounds.

• Ability to function effectively within a team environment.

• Must possess a valid State driver’s license.

• Required Certifications;        

o   Crisis Prevention Institution (CPI) Level 4 - Advanced Physical Skills

o   Practical and Tactical Handcuffing (PATH)

o   Oleoresin Capsicum Aerosol Training (OCAT)

o   Personal Protection Control and Defense (Self-Defense Training)

• Ability to assist in field orientation of new officers.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience with Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health Security Department.

• Ability to prepare memoranda, reports and essays; using proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Three (3) years of experience with Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health.
