G4S Facilities Management are recruiting a Senior Porter on a full-time, permanent basis based in Oxford.



We are looking for a capable, experienced individual who has excellent communication and leadership skills. You will be responsible for ensuring that portering services are delivered safely, progressively and cost-effectively to prescribed standards according to Trust policies and procedures and meet the needs of patients, visitors and staff.



Responsibilities:

Develop and implement departmental aims and objectives, suggesting ways to improve departmental performance to the Portering Manager.
Assign general and specialist portering tasks in accordance with departmental priorities, assisting in the preparation of duty schedules, organizing and arranging staffing cover in the event of sickness and annual leave.
Ensure staff have sufficient equipment and materials available to meet service requirements.
Support the team taking responsibility for training and development and maintenance of expectations related to all people management aspects.
Provide leadership and direction to staff.

As directed by the Patient Pathway Coordinators ensure a full administration service is provided within the various services of Ophthalmology. This may include providing basic cover for the Patient Pathway Coordinators during periods of sickness, annual leave or workload increases. To collect health records as required from the Medical Records Libraries or elsewhere in the hospital and to assist with the preparation and pulling of clinic notes. To respond to queries relating to health records, either by telephone or in person and to ensure all health records are tracked using EPR thereby maintaining an accurate location of all records.
