As a Cyber Risk and Controls Analyst, you will serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of IT and security controls compliance and auditing. You will implement robust compliance frameworks as well as support development of appropriate policies and plans to mitigate Cyber Security risks
Key Responsibilities
- Assess security and business risks, analysing and presenting critical risks and potential remediation activities to all levels of management within the business
- Prepares and maintains audit and test strategies that address the evolving business risk and information control requirements
- Operate as a focus for verification and audit expertise for the organisation, working effectively with strategic organisational functions such as legal experts and technical support to provide authoritative advice and guidance on the requirements for controls
- Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures and report findings to the Information Security Manager; as well as track and report on the status of control remediation efforts
- Engaging primarily with controls owners and operators to test ISO27001 internal controls to improve testing and audits as well as recommending IT governance controls improvements.
- Play a key role in design, testing, implementation and operational effectiveness of internal controls, including 3rd party suppliers
- Provide expertise for the definition of strategies, policies, processes and guidelines for how we operate and manage cyber security controls across Cadent’s networks, systems and data
- Be a subject matter expert in the areas of IT and security controls, defining effective KPI’s and reporting, risk, compliance and assurance.
Skills and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in a Cyber Risk or Information Security role
- Ideally in a regulated environment, such as the utilities/ finance. Certified in or studying towards basic security standards, for example SSCP, COMPTIA Security+
- Good understanding of security across
- policy, culture, forensics, incident response and risk management
- Have practical work-based experience in at least three of these areas. Be able to understand both technical and non-technical security controls, and how they are applied in a business context
- Have had good exposure to assessing the adequacy of security controls, and exposure to designing security controls, with a specific focus on threat and vulnerability
- Good exposure to security risk management in an ISO27001 aligned environment
