Qualifications:

• 4 years experience as a Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or similar role with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.

• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, replication, and high-availability solutions (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication, pgpool, etc.).

• Strong skills in query optimization, index tuning, and performance tuning.

• Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL management tools (pgAdmin, psql), monitoring tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, Prometheus), and backup solutions.

• Experience with database security best practices (encryption, access control, auditing).

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to database performance, replication, and reliability.

• Good English communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)..

Hays Technology are recruiting a Mobile Cloud Engineer to join a public sector organisation based in the Leeds area. You will be reporting to the Hub IT Manager.

Your new role
In your new role, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support to multiple sites, whilst providing both hardware and software maintenance to all stakeholders, whilst ensuring equipment is set up when necessary. You will be assisting the secure and safe setup/installation of new equipment, software, hardware, upgrades, and components.

You will be maintaining standard network cabling including performing basic diagnostic and recovery routines on network equipment, whilst assisting the diagnosis and resolution of basic PC, printer, and software faults, including maintenance of software applications. You will be supporting the organisation's 'cloud first' mindset by furthering your education of Cloud platforms and their benefits.

About the Role

As the Senior Backend Engineer at CoverGo, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining our innovative insurance enterprise software solutions. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of new features, showcasing your proficiency in backend frameworks.
