Duties will include developing novel material manufacturing processes based on chemical vapour deposition methods for materials to be used within a power generating space micro-reactor. In addition to the manufacture aspect of the project, non-destructive testing analysis of the material forms produced will be assessed. Candidates will have a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a similar engineering discipline (or be close to completion) or possess equivalent experience relevant to the role and have previous experience in manufacturing of materials, ideally nuclear fuels but not limited to those with nuclear experience.

Candidates will have experimental experience in material manufacture, particularly related to composite ceramic/metallic (CERMET) materials. Bangor University is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to its Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME). Applications are invited from post-doctoral researchers with a record of research accomplishments to join the Pharmaceutical Economics, Policy and Prescribing Research (PEPPER) group within CHEME.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for career development and progression, with the successful candidate gaining experience by assessing the cost-effectiveness of health technologies alongside clinical trials. Research will focus initially on personalising treatment to improve kidney health in people living with heart failure.

Applications are welcome from candidates with a PhD in health economics or in a related discipline. The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of conducting economic evaluations, have good inter-personal skills, an enthusiasm for multidisciplinary research and be adept at working within project teams.

The post is available from 1st August 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter for a fixed-term period until 31st January 2027. An extension beyond this will be dependent on research funding being awarded to the post holder and the research centre.

This role will be located at our Bangor campus. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

Applications are invited for a temporary Teaching and Scholarship lectureship (maternity cover) in Conservation Science in the School of Environmental and Natural Sciences.

The successful candidate will be a motivated Lecturer who will contribute to teaching at undergraduate and MSc level, run tutorials and support field courses, conservation degrees and project students as appropriate. The successful candidate will join the dynamic conservation science group at Bangor University.

Applicants should have a PhD (or be near to completion) in conservation science or a related discipline (geography, ecology, environmental economics), an understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of conservation, and an enthusiasm for teaching in the classroom, in the field and online.

The role is available from 1st September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter and the post is available until 30th June 2025.
