  • To report directly to Production Manager/ Assistant Production Manager and work closely with him to achieve departmental objective.        
  • To ensure the company’s quality system is understood in the department and implemented.
  • To work closely with production planner to initiate Daily Production Schedule with the reference to Master Production Schedule to meet customer orders and be able to deliver timely.

• Requirements
  • Candidate should possess at least a Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

The Manufacturing Process Technician reports to the Shift Manager and will be responsible for one or more of a number of roles relating to the manufacture of sterile parenteral drugs to include but not limited to operation and set up of manufacturing equipment, processing of parts and components for manufacturing, performing transactions in electronic systems such as EBR, LIMS, SAP etc. and cleaning and sanitization of production areas.

This job specification outlines the general responsibilities associated with the role of Manufacturing Process Technician on the Amgen Manufacturing Site. The site is focused on continuous improvement of all work processes and practices and all colleagues are required to be flexible in this regard. This means that they may be asked to carry out additional work functions that are not described in this specification but are associated with their role.

Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract role for 24 months and successful candidates will be required to work a shift pattern.  Candidates must have previous aseptic experience.

Hiring Requirements:

• Manufacturing Process, Packing and Inspection Technicians are required to work a variety of shift patterns including days, 2, 3 and 4 cycle shifts.

• They will perform all operations with due care and attention and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Amgen requirements.

• They will be involved in problem solving and troubleshooting including initiation and documentation of investigations.

• They will be responsible for the performance of self-inspection Quality & Safety Audits within their functional area.

As a Manufacturing Associate in the Drug Substance division at Moderna’s Manufacturing Site in the UK, you will play a crucial role in the production of mRNA vaccines. This position demands a blend of scientific knowledge, operational expertise, and digital proficiency. You'll be an integral part of a team dedicated to producing safe and effective vaccines, upholding strict cGMP compliance and contributing to operational excellence in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Master safe work practices and adhere to Moderna’s safety procedures and guidelines.

• Get accustomed to gowning procedures and maintain housekeeping standards in your assigned area.

• Begin participating in incident investigations and CAPA tasks.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Execute operational activities with adherence to cGMP, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.

• Collaborate closely with QA for documentation closure needed for commercial batch disposition.

• Engage in troubleshooting routine equipment, process, and digital issues promptly.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Typically, 3-5+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment

• A College degree with a specialization in Pharmaceutical production technology or equivalent

• Experience with filtration and chromatography, and cold chain management a plus

• Experience in audit / inspection preparation, understanding Health authority and regulatory guidelines

• Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, leadership and cross-functional support groups required

• Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills required.

• Ability to maintain attention to detail while executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision

Moderna is seeking a Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor, Drug Substance for our state-of-the-art mRNA vaccines production unit at our Manufacturing Site in the UK. This role is pivotal in managing production timelines, ensuring cGMP compliance, and overseeing health and safety regulations. You will be instrumental in the technical ramp-up of manufacturing processes and be required to demonstrate digital proficiency and operational leadership.

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Enforce safety procedures and Moderna’s guidelines, ensuring compliance with local HSE requirements.

• Start fostering a collaborative relationship with the Day Shift team.

• Develop batch records, SOPs, and training materials for various phases of commercial programs.

• Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team for the timely disposition of commercial batches.

• Manage documentation processes and oversee training and development of staff.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Establish robust processes for Batch Disposition.

• Manage team performance and development, including regular one-on-one sessions.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain inventory and review process orders.

• Respond to routine equipment, process, and digital issues, ensuring continuous operation.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Typically, 5-7+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Biomechanical engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical engineering, Biochemistry or related field preferred

• Proven track record of success in a fast-paced production environment at a biotech/pharmaceutical company preferably in GMP

• Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, supervisors and cross-functional support groups required

• Exceptional written, oral communication, and organizational skills required

• Experience in audit / inspection preparation, understanding Health authority and regulatory guidelines

• Understanding/Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to mRNA drug products and vaccine production

• Expertise in quality control measures and assurance processes specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing

• Knowledge of validation processes for manufacturing equipment and processes

• Ability to analyze production data and generate reports for management

• Specific methodologies for continuous improvement, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or others.

• Experience in leading Kaizen events or other process optimization initiatives

• Experience in coordinating with supply chain for raw materials and inventory management.
