About the roleThis is a key leadership role within our large Additional Learning Support function. You will support the Head of Additional Learning Support to ensure efficient use of resources to support students with special education needs, disabilities, and other learning difficulties. You will also be responsible for leading administrative support staff, ensuring data relating to our students and services is accurately recorded and utilised by other colleagues within the department and within curriculum areas. This is to inform teaching, learning, assessment and support practices. You will also provide detailed analysis, trend information and reporting (including financial reporting). And supply administrative support for the Head of Additional Learning Support.
About the PersonYou will possess up to date knowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice for Further Education and other legislation and guidance related to transition, education, social care and health. As well as familiarity with student funding, including Adult Skills Fund (formally AEB) and Advanced Learner Loan Bursary and how associated claims are completed. You also should be experienced of the use of complex ICT and data handling in a business support setting. In terms of your leadership qualities, you should have successful experience of managing, leading, mentoring, training and supporting staff whilst developing and maintaining professional relationships.
You will be subject to working to strict deadlines, so should be resilient and calm, methodical and accurate under pressure. In terms of qualifications, you should possess a higher level qualification or equivalent professional qualification in Data / Analysis / Systems / Software / IT or a subject related to this post
