Job Description:
The Manager (Education) works in the Singapore Kindness Movement’s (SKM) education team in conceptualising and executing programmes through schools to achieve SKM’s mission. He/She reports to the Deputy Director (Education) and Executive Director.
He/She joins the team of managers and assistant managers to lead the organisation’s delivery of programmes and outreach to preschoolers, lower primary students and their parents, and educators.
The Manager (Education)’s job description is as follows:
- Conceptualises, markets and executes programmes, events and resources to inculcate kindness and graciousness in students from preschool to tertiary levels
- Serves as part of the Kindsville and Friends of Singa team, supporting programmes under these two banners
- Seeks, builds and maintains partnerships with preschools, schools, service-learning clubs, government, and private organisations to run educational programmes and events
- Collaborates with partners to enhance parent-child engagement through community outreach efforts, particularly leveraging the Kindsville initiative
- Plans, markets and executes the annual Kindness Award Ceremony, covering tasks from nomination consolidation and coordination to event management
- Maintains and organises archives of collaterals, photos and previous work for future reference. Manages and updates content on websites for key programmes, ensuring the latest and most impactful messages are shared
- Ensures rigorous administrative and procurement processes for projects and initiatives. Adheres to sound governance principles, managing internal budget, logistics and sponsorship requests effectively
- Establishes accountability and evaluation standards to measure the impact of our programmes. Delivers comprehensive post-event reports and programme conclusion, offering insights and recommendations for future improvement
- Works with the different sectors within SKM for the seamless implementation of all programmes. Actively participates in and contributes to assigned task clusters within the Secretariat, fostering a collaborative working environment
Qualifications
- Skills: Strong organisational and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field is preferable.
- Experience: At least two years of experience in programme development and management, preferably in the education sector or at least three years of experience in other fields
- Certifications: Any additional qualifications in educational programme design, public relations, or marketing will be a plus.
- Manage and review internal budget and logistics for programmes and events under your charge, including sponsorship requests.
- Establish accountability and evaluation standards and procedures to track programme effectiveness and impact.
- Provide post-event and programme reports for review and recommend areas of improvement.
- Seek, build, and maintain partnerships to collaborate with tertiary service-learning clubs, government, and private organisations to run tertiary programmes and events.
