Flexible Location: Based throughout Scotland, NES is a remote friendly employer supporting office and hybrid working. Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The Workforce Directorate works at a national level to support the delivery of NES’s strategic plan and is a key partner to the delivery of Scottish Government priorities for the health and social care workforce. It also provides a comprehensive People and Organisational Development strategy and service for the people who work for NES and externally to NHSScotland in the recruitment of medical and dental trainees and other vocational trainee groups. 
The Armed Forces Talent Programme (AFTP) is a national programme which sits within NHS Education for Scotland and forms part of the Organisational Development, Leadership and Learning (ODLL) team, within the Workforce Directorate.
The Armed Forces Talent Programme is working to ensure NHS Scotland - one of Europe’s largest employers - benefits from the talent, ability and experience of the Armed Forces community: those still serving or about to leave HM Armed Forces, veterans, Reservists, the cadet movement and the families supporting those who serve.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our small, but talented and dynamic Armed Forces Talent Programme team, to help us deliver on key projects with a focus on our internal and external engagement activity.
As Project Officer you would be responsible for supporting the programme team to raise awareness of the NHS as an employer, mapping existing pathways into employment and promoting these internally and externally. You will be key in developing promotional resources and activity, supporting development of new pathways and opportunities for the armed forces community.
The role requires the postholder to work in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders with an ability to promote the NHS as an employer in a professional and credible manner.
The stakeholders we work with are many and varied, and we also work with individuals from a diverse background. The taking into consideration the wider challenges and priorities facing our partners and health and social care services.
The Armed Forces Talent Programme is a Scotland wide initiative and does require attendance at events across the country on a regular basis.

Our recruitment process for this post is currently remote and online, except for the interview stage, which will be in-person. If successful you would initially work remotely, working from our offices as operationally required.
