Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Policy and Plans Specialist in the Strategy, Policy and Plans Directorate under North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). Conducts comprehensive planning to meet Secretary of Defense (SecDef) and Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS) strategies and plans in support of national security objectives. Prepares and coordinates policy and analysis input to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Joint Staff on a myriad of Homeland Defense, Aerospace Defense, Civil Support, Security Cooperation, and DoD globally synchronized or supported strategies and plans.

Duties:

• Develops and coordinates strategic/operational level policy and plans, in response to SecDef and CJCS direction, through the CJCS Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS) in support of national objectives.
• Writes, develops, edits, and revises documents, formal briefings, instructional papers, meeting notes, articles and formal documents in support of the NORAD and USNORTHCOM missions and functions, and Commander directed special initiatives and projects.
• Evaluates National and DoD policy, doctrine, strategy and planning documents to ensure NORAD and USNORTHCOM integration and compliance.

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an operational air planner for planning, scenario development, and execution of joint operational level warfare exercises for the purpose of supporting Major Command (MAJCOM) and Joint level training programs/exercises designed to train the Joint Force, Coalition Partners, Combat Air Forces, Air Mobility Forces and Contingency Response forces.

(2) Reviews, extracts, analyzes, and collates maintenance data and prepares maintenance summaries from reports submitted by subordinate maintenance activities. Summarizes and interprets significant data collected and relates this data to maintenance plans, standards, and actions. Identifies and analyzes deficiencies in resource consumption, training, workload, and scheduling; evaluates deviations from standards and plans; and determines causes and impact on maintenance mission. Assists work center supervisory personnel in interpreting and utilizing reports and information provided. Develops charts, graphs, tables, and visual media to present trends, performance status, capabilities, and related management information. Aids functional areas in identifying areas of record documentation and procedures, which can be streamlined, combined, or improved, and initiates methods to operate under the new or revised system.

(3) Advises when manpower authorization appears unbalanced, based on analytical and statistical studies, as directed. Identifies and validates manning required to support the organizational mission by use of various forecasting and statistical techniques. Evaluates changes in the operational plan for the program that will affect the maintenance capability forecast. Serves as a management information systems manager for the branch. Analyzes automation needs and recommends systems architecture for all maintenance operations. Develops, collects, and maintains various data used to evaluate and improve the maintenance effort. Monitors data input and output products between the maintenance function and data automation. Evaluates data from any source, which is significant to the maintenance operation.

(4) Performs other duties as assigned.

Directs and coordinates accounting operations which include cash processing and voucher examination.

Responsible for the monthly submission of cash reports and proof-checks.

Responsible for the accuracy of all financial obligations to ensure compliance with established regulations.

Conducts cash verifications, draft compliance reviews, physical inventories, government credit card reviews, and provide training to institution staff on a regular basis.

Directs the formulation of budget requests, reviews monthly salary projections, monitors the fund control systems of each program manager, and prepares monthly reports detailing the financial status of each program area.

Provides training to the Associate Wardens and Program Managers on the requirements of the Budget, Obligation, and Travel Modules.

You will serve as a/an Vessel Traffic Management Specialist and be responsible for providing vessel traffic management services in a Coast Guard Vessel Traffic Center on a rotating shift. The Vessel Traffic Center is a twenty-four hour per day, seven days a week operation.
