Implement and adhere to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ensure that the trial is conducted according to the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006 where appropriate. Coordinate the collection of any biological samples required as part of the clinical trial and ensure safe and appropriate storage of specimens. Monitoring and recording daily freezer and fridge temperatures and reporting any temperature excursions to the Clinical Research Nurse/Manager. Ensure the safe administration of the investigational medicinal product (IMP), have in-depth knowledge of the legal requirements of the individual Trusts clinical trial pharmacovigilance and pharmacovigilance policies. Report any adverse events and reactions in accordance with this policy and the trial protocol. Report any serious adverse events within 24 hours of knowledge of the event, to the sponsors. (For non-commercial studies please use the appropriate SAE forms supplied by the host sites. For KCH & GSTT-sponsored non-commercial studies, please use KHPCTO forms). Maintain clear and accurate source data and other records; ensure a high level of accuracy when transcribing data onto electronic or paper case report forms; create and design database as required for patient and staff records. Assist the PIs in liaising with the KHPCTO and R&I Office relating to submission of the study for regulatory approval and Trust Management approval. Assist in completing submissions to the Research Health Authority (RHA) as required. Perform tasks requiring highly developed clinical skills including phlebotomy, cannulation and keep up to date with current practices for cannulation, phlebotomy, etc. To oversee the routine maintenance and servicing of research equipment. To ensure that all research equipment is calibrated annually and that the calibration certificates are filed in the Equipment File. Ensure that the freezers are maintained in good conditions. Perform essential tasks to prevent build-up of ice around the frame of the freezer doors. Liaise with the Research Nurses regarding administration of trial drugs to your study patients. Be responsible for the accountability of the oral medication used by your study patients.

A UL Bioscience Hub has been established at Kings College London, with UL scientists based at Guys Campus. The main purpose of this Hub is to enable UL scientists to work alongside globally recognised experts in the Bioscience field, allowing access to world leading scientific expertise and technical capability.

An opportunity has arisen in the S&T Human Biology team for a PhD-qualified scientist to join our team at Kings College London, reporting to the Bioscience Hub leader & senior scientist for a 12-month maternity cover contract. The role is ideally suited to a self-motivated, resourceful research scientist with ability to work on their own initiative and with strong people and communication skills. A background in immunology is essential with a knowledge of skin biology highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Programme support: As part of the HB S&T programme, provide immunology expertise to support all project workstreams. Undertake lab-based research to identify new insights, targets & technology for relevant categories.
• External networks and resources: Leverage the best of both academia and industry, including assessing and working with independent service providers, to support the development of new technologies. Contribute to building the new KCL Hub and establishing an effective scouting network within the University.

ALL ABOUT YOU

• A degree in a biological based subject is essential. A PhD, or equivalent experience, with a strong emphasis in human immunology is preferred. Experience of skin biology/immunology would be ideal, or other host-microbial interface such as hair and oral mucosa.
• Proven ability to handle primary cells, particularly immune cells, is preferred. Experience of co-culture systems, 3D models, histological analysis of immune biomarkers, and experience of managing tissue in accordance with the UK Human Tissue Act would be an added advantage.
• Omic measurements (e.g. RNAseq, proteomics etc) of cells and/or tissues and bioinformatic analyses thereof using R and/or other software platforms is desirable. Knowledge of single cell and/or spatial transcriptomic techniques is an added advantage.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external partners for new technology development, as well as initiating new partnerships
• Ability to effectively balance multiple concurrent activities and deliver to established deadlines.
• A strong interest in translational research and industrial R&D; the direct experience of delivering a research agenda in an industrial setting would be an added advantage.

About you

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

• Hold the relevant Computing/ICT qualification (PGCE, B. Ed or BA Hons) with UK Qualified Teaching Status (QTS/QTLS).
• Be a confident communicator, alongside excellent behaviour management, and can build good rapport with students and fellow staff.
• Deliver exciting and engaging Computing/ICT lessons using your own initiative and have a good knowledge of the national curriculum.
• To monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils’ learning in the subject
• To follow school departmental policies for the assessing, recording and reporting of pupil achievement using these to set achievable targets for further improvement in the subject across the range of abilities
• To create and maintain a stimulating learning environment for the learning of Computer Science and to have a significant input into the development of Computer Science teaching in the school.
• To ensure levels of discipline conducive to learning
• To work as part of a team in the teaching organisation and administration of the department

Further to the duties and responsibilities listed within the Main Pay Scale Job Description for all teachers at the School, and initially, the post holder is responsible to the Head of Faculty/Department/Leadership Group Line Manager/Headteacher and any other designated Line Manager(s) for the following:

Your new company
Due to a high demand for Science Teachers across Bolton and surrounding areas, Hays Education are looking to register a number of Science teachers of all experience levels.
Your new role
You will be responsible for teaching your Science discipline, or in some cases across all 3 areas at Secondary schools across Greater Manchester.
In a long term role you will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, as well as completing the subsequent marking and assessment of pupils work, ensuring all pupils are progressing well within the classroom. You will also be expected to attend and prepare for Parents Evenings throughout the academic calendar.
Behaviour management will also be your priority, as well as ensuring pupils are achieving to the best of their ability and engaging with the subject in your classroom.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be a registered teacher with Hays Education, you mustpossess QTS / QTLS and ideally have experience of teaching your 1 Sciencediscipline, or teaching all 3 Sciences across KS3 and KS4.
