The role of the Research Nurse at The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RSCH) involves working with multidisciplinary teams to screen patients for research studies, monitor patients during studies, assist with clinical investigations as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data. As a band 5 research nurse you will work under the supervision of senior nursing staff and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to manage a caseload of trial patients. There are also strong links with the University of Surrey so providing both a wealth of clinical data together with the resources of a University. The post holder will become an integral member of the brachytherapy team and by the end of the post will have gained certified training in both HDR and 1125 LDR Prostate Brachytherapy.There are a number of research projects in place or about to start, and the post holder will be actively involved with and/or run including: Completion of the focal brachytherapy trial We currently have a database with >5000 patients treated over the last 20 years.
