Key Responsibilities – Quality Engineer

• Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.

Qualifications & Requirements – Quality Engineer

Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and requirements.
• Knowledge of machining, assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Experience in performing Quality Audits.
• Experience using PC configured with MS Windows OS. Familiarity with MS Office software is desired.
• Project Management experience is preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr.) is preferred.

• NC/HND or Degree in Engineering

The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:

• Work effectively as an internal quality assurance compliance auditor, carrying out audits in the following areas in line with scheduled requirement: GMP, CCP’s, Label and Date Coding, Traceability, Hygiene, Fabrication, Product quality, Documentation and Paperwork, Production processes and procedures. Ensuring full documentation of the audits and clear communication of audit results including non-conformance root cause follow up and verification of closure to prevent repeated issues.

The responsibilities of the successful Quality Assurance Technician:

• Collection of all samples for analysis in accordance with scheduled requirements, accurately inputting into required systems
• Carry out swabbing requirements in compliance with documented schedules
• Carry out documented ingredient and packaging inspection checks, feeding back results to the Intake Compliance controller

The responsibilities of the successful Hygiene Quality Assurance Technologist:

• Night hygiene deep clean and days interim production hygiene audits on a scheduled basis.
• Conduct scheduled and adhoc announced and unannounced site audits to ensure compliance with hygiene procedure and factory environment standards, with full documentation detailing corrective and preventative actions, verification closure to prevent repeats
• Swabbing environmental monitoring verifications to be carried out according to schedules.
• Targeted approach to prevent cross contamination hazards namely microbiological, allergenic, chemical and physical from the environment/equipment to product

Daily responsibilities for operational quality and curriculum

• Part of and contribution to the Quality and Curriculum IQA and tutor team focusing on operational quality and curriculum and IQA activities
• Contribution to ensuring and maintaining a consistently good if not higher operational quality of provision across the Skills division.
• Be the key contact for our EQA Awarding Body visits, including arranging each visit with the allocated EQA, sharing of information, updates and liaising with our learner recruitment team and MIS for qualification achievement data and certification
• Undertaking IQA awarding body activities as per the quality and curriculum schedule and cycle, including compliance and operational arrangements.
• Working with our adult/health and social care tutors to provide a consistent, reliable and good quality of curricula and education across the Skills division, including the monitoring and reporting of teaching, learning and assessment and the learner learning journey.

Main Responsibilities

Staffing

1. Be responsible for the operational line management of your own allocated sector tutor team delivering within own sector area inclusive of, but not exclusive to:

• Performance management and liaising with the SLT and HR matters to determine more serious and agree formal action/s where required
• Undertake monthly tutor caseload 1:1's performance management reviews, including appraisals, personal development action planning and monitoring processes
• Capture tutor team holiday requests and review the expense claims, both for SLT approval

Quality and Curriculum
