Job Description:
Position Summary:
The position is part of the Airbus Procurement Operations team made up of cross national teams of Supply Chain Quality Managers, Specialists, and Transformation managers in the EU, North America & Asia. The position supports on-time delivery and quality of Cabin elements (monuments, floor to floor, cabin equipment, etc) from suppliers and their sub-tiers as well as assessment of the supplier's rate readiness.
The Supply Chain Quality Specialist is in daily contact with internal customers (located in the US and Europe) and with suppliers.
The position is located in Newport Beach, CA with a hybrid work schedule requiring local and national travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Act as expert/ specialist in supply chain and Quality management (New Product Introduction, Root cause analysis, E2E containment & prevention, APQP, Gemba, audits and assessments)
Be a local referent for Operational excellence and AOS bricks deployment
Coach and secure knowledge transfer within the SCQM teams in order to drive continuous up-skilling of the community
Establish a cross-commodity network. Identify synergies across Cabin commodity and harmonize ways of working
Improve Airbus methods and procedures
Assess supplier during tendering phase and contribute to the selection decision
Manage complex crisis, including stakeholder management & associated reporting
Manage complex NPI and Transfers of Work to ensure industrial maturity and qualification before serial phase
Manage complex quality events
Identify the supplier industrial risks and propose mitigation actions
Verify and reinforce supplier compliance to Airbus Supplier Requirements (ASR) and airworthiness requirements. Provide guidance and expertise to the SCQM on how to close compliance gaps
Assess the Supplier capacity, capability & performance and contribute to the supplier development and transformation
Actively contribute to commodity roadmaps
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education
Experience
7-10 years professional experience in a procurement operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent
Preferred: Aerospace industry and/or manufacturing experience
Knowledge and expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), structured problem solving, Risk Management, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma)
Experience leading industrial capacity audits and quality assessments
Licensure/Certifications
Preferred: Green Belt/Black Belt certification, CPIM certification (Certified in Production & Inventory Management)
Valid driver's license required
Valid Passport required
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities
Required: Knowledge of Supply Chain and Quality Processes
Preferred: Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Practical Problem Solving, International standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing, IPCA+ and CCP tools
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment required
Ability to effectively coordinate the work of others with different technical skills and experiences required
Ability to lead problem definition using a matrix organization and without direct management authority by leveraging communication and interpersonal skills required
Demonstrated capability to adapt and thrive in a high-paced, complex international environment required
High-level of organizational and multi-tasking skills mandatory
Excellent people and stakeholder relationship management is essential
Ability to produce independent data, analysis, and reporting essential
Knowledge of value stream and process mapping desired
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages)
Business-level English fluent (written, spoken) mandatory. French, Spanish or German are advantageous
Ability to summarize complex industrial situations in a clear manner
Team Player with good communication skills, customer-oriented, problem solving and flexible way of working
Technical Systems Proficiency
Proficient in Google Applications equivalent to Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word)
Ability to learn internal Airbus software tools

The Job holder will be part of a team and will be able to act autonomously but operationally driven by the Procurement commodity in Europe. The management support for the Job Holder is US based, as are the suppliers. Most internal customers will be based in Europe.

Involved, negotiation type communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands are primarily associated with travel (ability to travel by car and plane and carry luggage), walking/standing/sitting at supplier sites, communicating (hearing, speaking, typing), and working for long periods of time on a computer (vision, sitting).
