NAPIC is a £38m entity (including a £15m UKRI investment) to lead the UK’s alternative protein knowledge and Innovation ecosystem. NAPIC’s vision is to make alternative proteins mainstream for a sustainable planet. The centre is led by the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield, Imperial College London and the James Hutton Institute, in collaboration with over 100 national and international partners. NAPIC is a cohesive pan-UK centre poised to revolutionise the UK’s agri-food sector by harnessing our world-leading science base through a co-created alternative protein strategy across the Discovery → Innovation → Commercialisation pipeline to support the transition to a sustainable, high growth, blended protein bioeconomy. NAPIC features four integrated activity streams: research to address innovation challenges; a national alternative protein knowledge base; workforce of the future; and accessible Innovation facilities.

NAPIC is actively recruiting a number of Research and Innovation Fellows across the four leading organisations. Estates are at the centre of the government’s plans for transforming the NHS. The NHS Long Term Plan outlines the need to ‘accelerate the redesign of patient care to future-proof the NHS for the decade ahead.’

The NHS Estate covers 25 million m² of hospital estate including acute, community and mental health care settings. With 1.4 million NHS staff working across 17,000 buildings, including 1,140 hospitals and 7,500 primary care sites, our c100k staff are responsible for maintaining and running all estate and facilities services across all of these sites.

The National Estates Capital and Transactions team provides expert support in respect of assurance of estates business cases (capital & subsidiary), PFI, ProCure 23 construction framework, capital input into capital strategies and spending review along with supporting the estates team in respect of broader activities where expert capital, assurance or transactions support is required. We are a busy team with a diverse portfolio of work, having assured cases with a capital value over £3 billion in 2023/24. About the Role

As a Control Systems Engineer you'll be responsible for providing technical expertise in order to manage the medium to long term integrity of high-risk operational assets and new build projects within your area of expertise, where failure would have a major impact on safety; environmental; and commercial operation of the business.

- Responsible for design sign off for Process Safety and control Engineering solutions including SIL determination, design, implementation and life cycle management of Functional Safety Systems.

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our food products. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality control procedures for raw materials, production processes, and finished products.

• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (ISO, GMP).
