Sourcing and Supplier Management:

• Identify and evaluate potential local suppliers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and maintain a preferred supplier list.

Procurement Process:

• Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

• Monitor and control procurement budgets.

Quality Assurance:

• Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any supplier-related issues.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
• Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost analyses, and supplier performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments such as Production, Logistics, and Finance to understand their needs and ensure timely procurement of required goods and services.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive process improvements.

- 6 month Fixed term Contract with a possibility to extend.
- Establish a group procurement governance framework and establish an education programme to ensure colleagues globally understand the framework.
- Negotiate contracts working with Finance, Legal and contract owners.
Undertake all procurement activity in full accordance with the legal (legislation, commercial and contract law) environment and our sustainability requirements.
- Working closely with the Legal team to ensure contracts are reviewed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all procurement processes are fit for purpose across the company.
- Working with contract owners in advance to help with a proactive approach to renewals ahead of time.
- Monitor supplier performance in collaboration with the contract owner.

As an IT Procurement Category Manager, supporting the Procurement Team, you will work with project teams in the identification, negotiation, evaluation, contracting, and supplier relationship management of suppliers in a high-quality, timely, and cost-effective manner.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Support project teams in the identification, negotiation, evaluation, contracting and supplier relationship management of suppliers in a high quality, timely and cost-effective manner.
• Support the business with contracting (negotiation and implementation of frame agreements, services agreements, confidentiality agreements and other agreements).
• Procurement category management with a focus in Information Technology (cloud services, professional services, infrastructure, hardware, software, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of working with suppliers, third parties and external service providers, ideally in pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
• Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.)
• Procurement processes include: Product/Service Sourcing , Supplier Selection, Pricing/Terms Negotiation, Order Processing, Contract Administration Supplier Performance Management, May include Strategic Sourcing.
• Create full spend transparency (spend baselines, KPIs, and metrics).
• Ensure support to the project leaders and cross-functional teams in the selection and management of suppliers and service providers on a project-to-project basis and link these decisions with the overall global category strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ALCON:

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs.; Assoc. +9 yrs.; M.S. +2 yrs.; PhD+0 yrs.)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with procurement category management with a focus in Information Technology (cloud services, professional services, infrastructure, hardware, software, etc.)
• Excellent negotiation skills and knowledge to set up supply & service agreements in close cooperation with internal legal departments
• Experience with SAP Ariba; analytics experience, as well as experience utilizing spend analytics tools, a plus

Job Description:

The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Agent to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility.

2. Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.

3. Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management.

4. Supports the Purchasing Agents to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate.

5. Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure.

6. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
