Communications Specialist, Senior
The Opportunity:
As a Communications Specialist, you will execute a range of strategic communications efforts from communication strategy execution, planning and facilitating technical workshops and conferences, developing marketing campaigns for events, conducting targeted engagement with technical stakeholders, creating high quality briefing materials and talking points, and reviewing a range of technical products, including policy documents and research reports. While a majority of this role will be rooted in strategic communications, you will also be planning events that require extensive logistics coordination and unique security requirements. You will support all aspects of event planning, including maintaining a strategic events calendar, creating RFPs, researching and securing vendors, coordinating with AV/IT, handling security requirements for classified and unclassified events, completing registration protocols, producing marketing materials, and providing summary reports. You will also develop or contribute to a variety of visual design solutions to challenges of moderate scope and complexity.
Additionally, you’ll contribute to DoD policy analysis in the realm of science and technology. You will work both independently and collaboratively to take documents, briefings, and other materials all the way through to highly professional, client-ready products without substantial oversight.

You Have:
- 5+ years of experience with communications or event planning for the DoD or a U.S. Government agency
- 3+ years of experience with event planning, organization, facilitation, and day-of execution
- Experience developing communications strategies for senior leaders and creating a full suite of communications materials to execute their vision
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign and Illustrator
- Experience analyzing written and edited technical reports or policy language for government clients
- Knowledge of government consulting, client service, outlining outcomes, developing project management plans, and helping clients achieve their objectives
- Ability to work with senior leaders, respond to rapidly changing priorities, pay strict attention to detail, and adapt writing style to meet varying needs of stakeholders at various levels
- Secret clearance

Nice If You Have:
- Experience speaking to large audiences and serving as a day-of event coordinator or an emcee role throughout the event
- Experience conducting classified meetings or coordinating unique security requirements
- Experience leading communications efforts for DoD Research and Development Programs, systems engineering, microelectronics, or similar engineering or emerging technology field
- Experience creating video vignettes for clients to demonstrate capabilities or explain organizational objectives
- Possession of excellent verbal and written skills, including developing briefings and presenting them to internal and external audiences
- Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
