GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:


During the initial 3 months in this role, many tasks are learned and skills developed. Primary functions are the masking and/or de-masking of customer product being coated. Other duties may include cleaning, surface preparation and inspection.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


· Understand and follow the designated processes, work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s) and other written and/or verbal instructions.

· Perform basic masking/de-masking and inspection tasks using methods and materials as specified in the designated processes using small hand tools, microscope and /or other support equipment.

· Successfully complete Masker certification in accordance with internal documentation. Training will be provided


· Inspect own work for quality compliance

· Inspect own work for quality compliance.

· Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when required and appropriate.

· Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.

About the Role
Surrey County Council is one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK, serving a population of 1.2 million residents. The Surrey Registration Service is responsible for the registration of 19,000 births, 11,000 deaths and 3,500 civil marriages and partnerships occurring in the county of Surrey each year.

One of the principal functions of this role is the production of copy birth, death, and marriage certificates for our residents and customers. This involves retrieving the original registers located in the basement vaults of our building, and requires use of scanning equipment and specialist IT programmes (for which training will be given). You must have clear, legible, and neat handwriting, and it is essential for you to have good IT knowledge and experience which may be tested at interview with a handwriting demonstration and spelling test. About the Role

As a Production Operative you will be trained to use machinery which helps us manufacture bricks from raw materials which are then used in construction and form the backbone of the building industry.
