(2) Ensures Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports, and system management. Based on guidance received, prioritizes resources to ensure the highest level of readiness in support of training and mobilization requirements of supported units. Ensures that Army Materiel Status System (AMSS) equipment readiness reports are correct and submitted in a timely manner to meet Department of the Army (DA) reporting suspense.

(4) Ensures that unit Class 9 (CL IX) accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness. Performs demand analysis on unit CL IX expenses to determine proper stockage to sustain unit mission requirements.

Assists in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production or priority requirements.

(6) Analyzes repair methods and develops control procedures and policies to assure accomplishment of programs to meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Ensures that this is performed in the most effective and efficient manner possible with good quality control and quality assurance procedures in place. Coordinates with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders. Coordinates with logistical personnel, equipment specialists, higher ranked management officials, item managers at depots concerning critical shortages of repair parts required to support the maintenance repair program.

(7) Provides technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller. May provide guidance and oversight of mechanics, Tools and Parts Attendants, or other positions assisting in the maintenance production or maintenance management processes. Ensures necessary maintenance workers are available and that required reports are submitted to units and higher headquarters in a timely manner.

(8) This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.

Job Description:

Berklee College of Music invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department.

The Contemporary Writing and Production Department includes 35 faculty members who provide specialized instruction in composition, orchestration, arranging, and production techniques, focusing on contemporary music styles and music technology tools. The department serves over 560 students in the contemporary writing and production major, the writing for television and new media specialization, and the Mediterranean music minor, as well as serving all students at Berklee College of Music in the arranging core courses.

The ideal candidate is an experienced music producer and a dedicated teacher and educator who will actively contribute to the department and the Berklee community, fostering an inclusive learning space that supports all students regardless of their background and identity. This full-time position reports to the chair of Contemporary Writing and Production in the Professional Writing and Music Technology Division.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Teaching upper-level music production courses in the Contemporary Writing and Production major that incorporate advanced production techniques and current music technology tools in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production, mixing, and writer-producer collaborations in professional studio environments;

• Working one-on-one with senior CWP students as they prepare their writing and production graduation portfolio and transition to their professional careers in the music industry;

• Supervising recording sessions of student projects as part of the course requirements focusing on developing students’ leadership skills;

• Contribute to the department’s constant curriculum development to reflect the changes in the music industry.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Significant past and current professional experience as an active music producer in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production and remote collaboration in professional environments;

• High-level skills in music technology using Pro Tools and other current Digital Audio Workstations, as well as mixing and advanced music production tools;

• Teaching experience in music production and/or music technology;

• Master’s Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• A willingness to adhere to a structured curriculum and to develop course content and supplemental materials;

• An interest in working in a diverse workplace with a multicultural multi-talented student body.

Start date:

This is a full-time teaching position with a 9-month commitment (Fall and Spring semesters) and a renewable contract. The start date is September 1, 2024. Compensation is commensurate with professional experience.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

To provide manufacturing engineering support to all areas of operations.  This will include interfacing with various levels of Manufacturing, PD&E, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with PD&E through out all phases of product development and integration. Ensure DFM methods are employed and product is designed to allow the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing. The Duties of the Audio Visual Post Production Manager are as follows:

• Manage the Berklee Online post production team and process. Maintain the highest level of professional audio and video production quality, striving for unparalleled video production results that push the envelope and industry expectations for audio, video, and media creation. All of the content recorded is for music education and requires a musical background to meet the needs of Berklee courses.
• Manage whole band recording sessions including running sound for studio recording and audio recording resource management and direction.
• Contribute to arranging and creating material used in music courses including examples of musical styles such as Jazz, etc. performed by students and professors. Fully involved in overseeing and editing recorded material for the course. 90% of courses at Berklee involve examples of live music, performed by either the professor, students, or entire band.
• Updating whole audio system to record musicians and music lessons
• Manager of post production- assists in video recordings running sound- train post production team to run sound for all video shoots. Training other editors on the production team to be able to record music.
• Work collaboratively with video producers, musicians, performers, editors, stakeholders, etc., to take projects from conception to completion.
• Quality assurance and attention to detail in creating and reviewing personal and team work including an emphasis on reviewing recorded music and performances for content accuracy around educational music concepts.
• Oversee audio visual content creation at Berklee Online with an emphasis on ensuring technical accuracy and educational effectiveness of all media created.
• Lead by example and train video team members and project stakeholders on Berklee Online’s approved post-production and file management workflows, as well as training and managing student employees as needed.
• Create, own, and update workflow best practice documents as needed to clearly communicate processes and expectations to the team around post production, audio recording, and educational best practices for content and media creation.
• Organize and track assets with project management and digital asset management best practices in a shared workflow environment.

• Plan and execute on technical audio recording setups to properly record vocal performances and instruments (guitars, pianos, ensembles, etc.).

Special Requirements:

• High level of with and an advanced knowledge of all areas of audio recording and post production, including audio recording best practices, studio audio recording, on location audio recording, and audio mixing including the proper setup and operation of audio equipment.
• High level of excellent video post-production experience including knowledge of video editing, color correction, video compression, and online distribution.

Job Summary:

THE ROLE:

We are looking to hire runners for the 2024 season at our venues in the Greater Boston area. As a runner, you will assist in fulfilling the needs of the production department which most commonly includes running errands under the direction of the venue or tour production managers. Driving is a large part of the role, so you must be comfortable driving in the city. Confidentiality is critical to this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with the Senior Concert Producer and creative team to bring together all aspects of the music and interdisciplinary components within a production, ensuring smooth running from the first rehearsal to the final curtain call

• Provide support to the producer, musical director, and student performers during instrumental sectionals and concert element transitions to uphold the musical/artistic integrity and consistency of quality throughout the production

• Assist the Berklee Presents team with the recruitment and allocation of musicians in the band, as well as accompanists for rehearsals, developing a complete understanding of the instrumental components of the show

• Create the prompt book containing the production's sound, lighting, and set cues, as well as other vital information, and convey the director's wishes to the audio-visual team and stage crew

• Formulate rehearsal requirements for the academic year with the Senior Concert Producer, understanding which cast members need to be there, and what the directors expect to accomplish at each rehearsal

• Attend on-campus rehearsals, sectionals, and performances in order to provide support, mentorship, and quality control feedback to the Berklee Presents team and the student cast

• Take cast, blocking, and prop notes for the producer and director during weekly rehearsals and sectionals, confirming tempos/tempo variations and all score notes for the band and stage crew

• Serve as a hub of communication between the cast and production team, incorporating musical score and cue sheet tracking changes as they are made throughout the pre-production process, collaborating with the arranging team, track producers, arranging supervisor, musical directors, and stage management team, to ensure they remain in sync, and distributing these changes to the relevant cast members

• Deputize for the Senior Concert Producer, when necessary, during their absence or at the request of the Senior Concert Producer should they be unavailable

• Coordinate the audition and callback process, including as necessary promoting auditions, liaising with marketing and communications, developing audition schedules, and supporting the faculty audition panel

• Organize, catalog, and maintain both the physical and digital music library for Berklee Presents productions

• Establish effective processes for student cast scheduling and communication of show schedules, advances, and day sheets, including the updating of systems that ensure the secure storage of students’ FERPA-protected data

• Manage the Senior Concert Producer recording studio, audio equipment inventory, and recording session calendar

• Assist in backstage management during rehearsals and concerts, ensuring that everyone is ready for curtain and in the wings in time for their entrances, and calling technical cues to the crew over a wireless headset

• Serve as the administrative lead to establish work-flow and organization of team files and shared drive databases

• Develop and sustain professional relationships and collaborate internally and externally for the benefit of the team

• Act as an appointed liaison to the communications and marketing department, ensuring clear communication between teams, and helping the Berklee Present team to thrive interdepartmentally

• Partner with Academic Scheduling to book a variety of fit-for-purpose ensemble spaces and classrooms to support weekly instrumental and dance sectionals, blocking sessions, and full cast rehearsals

• Assist with rehearsal room setup and secure required technology support for team meetings and production rehearsals, including the acquisition of specialist instruments from Percussion Services and Academic Technology

• Act as a point of contact within the team for queries and administrative needs for cast members and creatives

• Assist the Senior Concert Producer in the hiring, onboarding, and management of Student Employees

• Author digital credits on Hub as a content editor, ensuring the most updated instrumentation and performer names, and compile and draft copy for printed concert programs prior to proofing and publication in print, online, and promotion

• Coordinate cast and crew dinner during the dress rehearsal

• Undertake administrative tasks as required to support the Berklee Presents team

The External Manufacturing Senior Manager will drive manufacturing operations and execution at Vertex’s external commercial partner(s) for the manufacture of Small Molecule Drug Product, while contributing to the broader External Manufacturing group activities. The candidate will be in a remote role, with travel to US and EU CDMO sites routinely as a “Person-in-Plant” 2-4 weeks per month.

Managing the external manufacturing network is a critical component of the Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain (CMSC) team’s role in ensuring that Vertex effectively and efficiently delivers medicines to patients. As such, we are looking for a leader to provide leadership, and both strategic and enterprise thinking in the management of the external partner.  The candidate should have broad professional experience and the drive to work with both internal and external stakeholders to define and manage the execution of ongoing cGMP manufacturing of Drug Product supplies. This leader should have a strong operational, quality, compliance and technical background, with proven project management and supplier management abilities.  They should have the ability to cultivate and leverage multiple cross-functional business relationships to identify and execute creative solutions to organizational opportunities and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acts as main point of contact for CDMO(s), building and maintaining strategic relationships within the CDMO organization.  
• Responsible for driving execution of Drug Product production plans: Provide operational oversight and troubleshooting support to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed Vertex requirements (including but not limited to successful execution of manufacturing operations, on-time shipments, quality compliance and cost management).   
• Maintain on-site presence acting as the Person-in-Plant (PiP) at the CDMO facility and be Vertex’s eyes and ears to ensure flawless execution of commercial operations. This may include some off-hours/days to resolve urgent issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to affect timely resolution of supply issue and increase productivity.

• Establish a robust tracking and reporting process to monitor CDMO performance using a set of standard KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and report progress to management.

Minimal Requirements:

• BS/BA degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
