Maintenance Electrician Location: LiverpoolSalary: £18.27 per hourSodexo has a great opportunity for an Electrician to join our established team working with our clients based in Liverpool.
Joining our team at their large site in Speke, you will fulfil all the necessary criteria to become authorised by the Client’s Site Electrician to carry out all the works listed below.
- To work alongside all the members of the Sodexo team to ensure that the site is maintained to the best possible standard.
- To develop relationships with all client representatives and Sodexo suppliers to ensure all the activities are carried out according to the Client's and Sodexo’s requirements.
- To propose and deliver cost saving solutions and to challenge existing methods of work.
- To report to the Lead Engineer daily to discuss the planned work schedule.
- To receive any incoming work orders and be able to prioritise and manage the works accordingly.
- All preparatory paperwork is to be completed prior to commencing work and all works must be officially signed off.
- To carry out the re-lamping of internal lights, to diagnose lighting faults and carry out repairs on an ongoing basis, to ensure the maximum levels of lighting around site. These works to be carried out via Fiix Work Orders.
- To design, plan and carry out small installation works to BS7671 including verification and certification.
- To carry out, in liaison with the Site Plumber or HVAC Engineer where necessary, small mechanical repairs.
- To carry out repairs to small power, lighting and electrical equipment from client calls to the Sodexo helpdesk.
- To carry out initial fault diagnosis on electrically based equipment including HVAC, lifts, powered doors, pumps and motors prior to the calling in of specialist contractors.
- To carry out emergency lighting tests in Sodexo controlled areas. This may mean out of hours or weekend working. To document the test results and to rectify faults where required.
- To carry out Ad hoc portable appliance testing all around site, record results and rectify faults where appropriate.
- To carry out inspections to electrical sub-stations and switch rooms, record the results and carry out remedial works where required.
About You Experience, skills and knowledge requirement for this role: Essential
- Engineering in Electrical related discipline
- Engineering experience and knowledge of a manufacturing plant, preferably pharmaceutical / chemical / industrial
- Experience of using a works order planning database, e.g., Fiix
- Minimum GCSE level education
- Ability to work without supervision as well as part of a team
- Willingness and aptitude to be trained in any skills gap & positive approach to learning in role
- Good awareness and understanding of health, safety and environmental
- Minimum IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety accreditation
- Good computer literacy and operation of Microsoft Word, Excel and databases
- Good administration skills
- Self-motivated and flexible approach to role
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
Desirable
- Experience / knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality Assurance / ISO
- HNC or equivalent in Engineering in Electrical related discipline
- Have excellent technical awareness and good overview of M&E building services
- Proven experience of issuing permits, writing risk assessments and HS&E active monitoring
- Supervisory experience and performance management – both staff and contractors
- Developing and writing M&E scopes of work and service level agreements (SLA’s)
- Review existing plant maintenance regimes and instigate improvements and initiatives
- Good written skills and capable of producing engineering technical reports
- Good customer service skills / client facing skills
- Experience within managing / coordinating service contractors and contracts
