The role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role will support critical projects onsite by providing maintenance and administrative support.
Day-to-day, you'll do anything from painting doors, scrubbing a bay, or installing TVs to supporting the Facilities Manager in writing business cases, processing reactive work requests and supporting project.
- Work with Facilities Management (FM) staff and stakeholders to ensure FM services support the delivery of the core output of sites.
- Maintain workshop or site housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean safe working environment
- Control of contractors, ensure that contractors are managed in line with the Policy on the QMS and any deviations are highlighted, and activity halted.
- Deliver Work request that are allocated via the system in both planned maintenance and reactive maintenance areas.
- Use mechanical handling equipment to support the operational facilities management
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time 37 hours per week and is based at Bovington Camp in Wareham.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Maintenance Assistant
- Experience in a maintenance or construction environment
- Knowledge of basic IT programmes
Qualifications for the Maintenance Assistant
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
- Forklift Licence desirable
- Asbestos awareness desirable
- L8 Awareness desirable
