Job Role
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will work at our clients office and unit at Wrest Park, Silsoe, to maintain the mechanical equipment within the warehouse. This equipment includes a range of pressure washers and all their components, including hoses, lances, and fittings; gas regulators and fittings, including high-pressure fittings, hoses, couplings, valves, and gauges. General day-to-day maintenance includes assisting with unpacking, pressure washing, disinfecting all equipment, and reloading the kit back into the vans. Level checks on approximately five different vehicles with their equipment based at the warehouse, which are used on-site from time to time. Occasionally traveling to either of our storage yards to maintain, repair, and service the Operations equipment stored at the facility. Effective stock-taking, record-keeping, and communication are essential in this role.
Equipment Storage Facilities
Our client has a range of heavy equipment based around the country stored in different storage facilities. The chosen candidate will be responsible for minor servicing, minor repairs, and general maintenance of this equipment, including 540 JCB Loaders, smaller Weidemann Loaders, poultry catching modules and crates, box rotator attachments, nitrogen foam gassing systems, and other equipment used in Operations from time to time.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a digital log of all minor servicing and repairs made and required by all the equipment based at HQ and at any potential storage facility in the UK and Europe.
Deal directly with equipment agents, repair shops, and spares outlets to plan, commission, and monitor the progress of any major servicing and repairs of all vehicles and equipment used within the Operations department.
Work closely with the Operations team, reporting on safety, accidents, equipment availability and condition, planned equipment maintenance, requirements and repairs, potential downtime, potential costs, and lead times relating to any repairs, major servicing, or potential purchasing.
Keep and update accurate service and repair schedules and compliance records of the required MOTs, vehicle taxes, licenses, permits, and LOLERs required by the different authorities from time to time.
Maintain accurate records which will be available to the rest of the Operations team.
Attend all Operations team meetings and other company meetings involving Operations equipment requirements, repairs, servicing, and purchases.
Work closely with the Operations team and occasionally with other members of the company.
Be a team player and able to conduct business operations and communicate in a professional manner.
Be dedicated, flexible, and available to travel away and stay overnight at short notice to achieve the weekly goals and requirements set by the Operations team.
Communicate professionally in English with potential suppliers, colleagues, and clients alike.
Hold a clean, valid driving licence to drive a large van on occasion for work purposes.
Remuneration:
£22,000.00 - £28,000.00 depending on experience.
Hours of Work:
General working hours are 08:30 – 16:30 with a half-hour lunch Monday to Friday.
