This role will involve being part of the security team, carrying out security tasks on and across the inpatient environment. They are to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff and ensure the service meets the needs of all service users. Cyber Operations purpose is to support safe care and build public trust by building NHS England’s cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient, supporting Transformation Directorate’s purpose of delivering the best care and outcomes for the NHS.
The Cyber Operations sub-directorate consists of 4 operational areas:

As a Security Trainee, you will:
• Join the Protective Monitoring team to be in the Analyst Pool where you will be involved in triaging and responding to alerts through a SIEM tool.
• Work within the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), rotating through different teams in the CSOC to learn different Security Operations and Threat Operations specialties.
• Provide an initial analysis on security data to identify potential threats and formulate recommendations and actions to consider in order to remediate and respond.

As a Security Officer, you will rotate around the CSOC into 4 main areas: Protective Monitoring, Incident Management, Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting. As part of Protective Monitoring, you will join the analyst pool team responsible for triaging cyber alerts ranging from identity & access alerts, networking alerts and XDR. Within Threat Hunting, you will conduct daily hunting investigations using prewritten queries across a range of multi-tenant hunting platforms, including but not limited to M365D XDR, Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk. The Threat Intelligence team perform the collection, aggregation, analysis and contextualisation of healthcare and security information to produce actionable cyber threat intelligence. The Incident Management team provide end-to-end management of cyber security incidents as well as making security control recommendation and are also involved with fielding several cyber security related queries from the public and NHS staff.

The post of Security Officer has been awarded a Recruitment and Retention Premia (RRP) in response to current labour market conditions. In recognition of this, the role attracts an additional monthly RRP payment equal to 10% per annum.

The main duties you would be involved with are as follows:
• Work within the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) with exposure to the Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Protective Monitoring or Incident Management teams.
• Work as part of the Protective Monitoring team to investigate detections of potential Cyber Security incidents and to triage and raise incidents to organisations and NHS staff

The Estates Team's mission is to create and maintain safe, accessible, and comfortable physical environments and provide quality resources, facilities and services for all learners, staff and visitors.
We are looking for a professional, proactive, and highly customer focused individual to join our Estates team to build on and improve our customer focus and the service we provide to our customers within Exeter College.
As an Estates Security & Services Assistant you will be part of a team who are responsible for assisting our customers in a variety of ways, such as setting up classrooms for exams and open events or moving and storing furniture. You will also hold responsibility for ensuring the College’s security is maintained; undertaking building patrols and operating surveillance equipment. This will include opening and closing buildings and classrooms, working with fire alarms and activating/de-activating intruder alarms.


Another essential aspect of the role will be to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance work, alongside responsibility for providing a professional postal service which includes sorting the post, as well as delivering it to all our College sites.


You will have relevant work experience and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work flexibly within a team. You will have the ability to move goods and equipment in accordance with manual handling guidelines.


Full time shift pattern based on alternating shifts: 7am - 2.30pm or 2.30pm -10pm (Monday- Friday) Salary listed is including £1500 per annum shift allowance.

A full driving license is essential, as you will need to drive a College vehicle as part of the role.
