Tynecastle Nursery is housed within Tynecastle Stadium in a beautiful, purpose built nursery space. Opened originally in 1929, the new nursery continues to be highly regarded within the community. The nursery benefits from a rich social and cultural mix of families and its diversity is one of its main strengths. A highly skilled, dynamic and motivated staff team support the children and families. The nursery is registered for 55 children aged 2-5 years.

We are now seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Early Years Practitioner to work with us on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will be required to work shift patterns within the setting, between the hours of 0745hrs and 1800hrs, Monday - Friday, with some late shifts on rotation, within each month.

Fox Covert Early Years is registered for children aged between 2-5 years, with a maximum of up to 85 learners attending our provision at any one time. Our provision offers various patterns of attendance for learners, between 8am and 6pm, 52 weeks per year.

Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school which has served west-central Edinburgh with distinction for over 100 years. St Marks Primary School is in the south east of Edinburgh. We are an associated Primary School of the St. Thomas’ cluster. We have close working links with St. Peter’s RC Primary, St. Mary’s RC Primary and Holy Cross RC Primary and St. Thomas’ RC High School.

The staff consists of a Head Teacher, a Principal Teacher, 10 class teachers and 1 part time Additional Support for Learning Teacher. A brand new ELC was opened in January 2023 and provides 1140 hours all year places . The current school roll for Primary 1-7 classes is 159 and they are formed into 7 classes.

Early Years Practitioner
Roseburn Primary School

Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional

We have a dedicated and supportive staff team who work very hard to provide the best opportunities for all our pupils in a safe, nurturing and happy learning environment. We are supported very well by our parents, the Roseburn School Parent Partnership, and we have strong links with our local community.

There are around 249 children in the school, comprising of 10 classes, and the nursery class provision is 30 full time spaces.

Our nursery is supported by the HT and Acting Principal Teacher for Early Years. We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to be a part of our Roseburn team.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
