What does a live-in carer do?
As a live-in care assistant in Scotland, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. Duties include daily activities, personal care, condition management, and household tasks. You’ll typically work an average of 8–10 hours per day, with daily rates based on hours worked.

About you:
You’ll be someone who’s happy to talk, laugh and enjoy time with our clients, assisting them in their activities and encouraging them to live life to the full.
You might already be working as a live-in carer, or you might have professional experience as a support worker, care assistant in a residential or domiciliary care setting, or you might be a HCA working with the NHS. If you share our passion for quality care, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience:
- At least 6 months’ professional care experience gained in any care setting
- You must be able to provide us with proof of your right to work in the UK. We cannot assist with any sponsorship or visa requests – including those applying for a health and social care visa.

Support Worker – Full Time (Complex Services)

£12.00 per hour

Driver required with a full UK licence

Shifts will be 7.30am to 10.30pm, 8am to 5pm and 8am to 9pm (5 days out of 7). We also work a weekend on and weekend off pattern.

The role

Real Life Options is a registered charity currently going through a period of growth, and we are continuing to search for permanent contracted Support Workers who really want to make an impact on the lives of the people we support.

We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centred services providing a range of individualised support. For this role you would be required to support one young man in supported living. As a Support Worker you will help promote and maintain independence and assist with daily living tasks which may include: domestic tasks, assisting with mail, bills, and maintaining tenancy. You will also be prompting and providing personal care. There is medication support which is a very important part of this role and the successful applicant would be expected to undertake annual competencies/training as required.

The young man is non-verbal and uses pictures to aid in his communication with staff, experience of this would be highly desirable, however full training will be provided.

There can be challenging behaviour involved, any candidate that applied should have previous experience with challenging behaviour and how to manage this, such as de-escalation training and/or experience with Positive Behaviour Support Plans. There will be extensive challenging behaviour training in place for successful candidates. The service is staffed at a 3:1 ratio so there are always 3 staff on at any one time.

The young gentleman has a very active social life and attends many activities in the local community such as swimming, bowling and attending clubs. The ability to swim is desirable in order to support him in the pool. You will also be required to support to respond to, and attend medical appointments. A Driver is required as you will be driving the young man’s car for activities

An Enhanced Adult PVG is required for this role.

Support Worker - Inverurie

Full time and Part time hours available- £12.00 per hour

Drivers Preferred- Please note that due to the location of service drivers are preferred for this role due to there being limited public transport and routes none being available during shift times.

Ideal for anyone living local to Inverurie or neighbouring towns such as; Westhill, Huntley & Insch.

There are many different shifts available however the most common are: 7.30am-3pm, 3pm-10pm and 12pm-9pm. Our service also requires sleepover shifts- these are paid hourly.

The Role:

We have a strong emphasis on centred care so it is important you promote the individual's goals, choices and independence. At our Inverurie service we support individuals with day to day living tasks including: medication, meal preparation, personal care and domestic assistance. A crucial part of the role will be supporting with social activities such as attending parties, bingo and dances.

It would be advantageous if you have previous experience of supporting with adults with challenging behaviour, although this is not essential, as full training will be provided. You must have good communication skills, be able to use your own initiative and be aware of care standards and SSSC requirements. The successful applicant should also have an upbeat and warm personality to match the energy of our service.

As the service needs can be very variable due to supporting many individuals with differing needs, any successful applicant would need to have a level of flexibility around working hours.

An enhanced PVG is required for this role.
