The Operational Technology (OT) Support Supervisor primary purpose is to provide strategic leadership in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of the operational technology systems. This role involves overseeing a team of support analysts, setting technical standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the reliability and efficiency of industrial control systems and associated technologies. The IT Operational Technology Support Supervisor will optimize workflows, implement best practices, and foster a customer-centric culture through direct leadership of the IT Operational Technology team.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of OT Support Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide technical guidance and oversight in troubleshooting complex issues, implementing software updates, and maintaining OT systems.
Develop and execute strategic plans for operational technology support, aligning with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Oversee and coordinate incident response efforts for OT systems, ensuring swift and effective resolution to minimize operational disruptions.
Lead efforts to enhance the cyber security posture of OT systems, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with IT teams, operations, and engineering departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of IT and OT strategies.
Engage with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of OT hardware and software. Manage relationships with key stakeholders.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to the use, maintenance, and security of operational technology systems.
Implement training programs for the team and operational staff, ensuring continuous skill development and knowledge transfer.
Implement monitoring tools and metrics to assess the performance and health of OT systems, identifying areas for improvement.
Ensure comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and incidents. Provide regular reports to leadership on the status and performance of OT systems.
Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, recommending and implementing enhancements to increase the reliability and efficiency of OT systems.
Required Qualifications
Two years of post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience in MIS/Computer since or customer service role
Strong leadership skills to effectively guide and motivate the OT team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information to non-technical users and interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors.
Proven ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Quick and decisive problem-solving skills to handle critical incidents effectively.
Customer service skills, ensuring positive user experiences and high levels of satisfaction.
Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and best practices, such as ITIL, to optimize support processes and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
