What you will do

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of the plant environmental management system which includes compliance with applicable regulations, promoting pollution prevention and waste reduction, training employees and the overall reduction of the plant’s impact on the environment; reducing work related injuries by continuously improving the safety management system and leading cultural change by demonstrating exceptional leadership and engaging employees on all levels; and, the implementation of safety programs, employee training, compliance monitoring, maintaining reporting mechanisms and management of accidents, property losses and workers compensation.

How you will do it

• Evaluate the safety management system for its effectiveness and maintaining documented continuous improvement plans to improve performance.

• Engage the entire work force both salary and hourly to drive cultural change and accomplishing safety performance objectives and targets.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements and JCI corporate safety systems and act as the lead contact with regulatory agencies.

• Perform incident investigations using a formal process with the focus on root cause, corrective and preventive actions and verification.

• Provide effective training for all safety programs including but not limited to lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, powered industrial vehicle, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, electrical safety, confined space, respiratory protection and walking and working surfaces.

• Develop and implement motivational and incentive programs that promote a high degree of safety awareness and enthusiasm.

• Establish, record and track safety performance metrics, both leading and lagging indicators.

• Ensure that behavior-based observation programs are effectively implemented and tracked.

• Perform or ensure compliance with industrial hygiene testing and other requirements.

• Review planned changes and new equipment installations prior to receipt. Approve or recommend changes in manufacturing and engineering matters of plant layout, location/relocation of machinery, equipment, facilities, safety designs and processes.

• Train all new employees concerning plant safety rules and guidelines. Work with management in a joint effort to provide the worker with a safe attitude, safe surroundings and safe equipment.

• Assist in managing workers compensation and reducing costs by working closely with insurance carriers, JCI workers compensation manager, attorneys and state authorities along with in-house supervisors and managers. Manage each claim from the accident report to the return of the worker for modified duty and ultimately to claim closure.

• Help implement the corporate environmental management system. Collect environmental data for use in determining root-causes of compliance problems and pollution prevention opportunities. Implement proactive corrective steps.

• Complete and submit applicable environmental reports in a timely fashion (such as Tier II, TRI Form R, Generator’s Residual Waste, Waste-Water Self-Monitoring, and Air Emissions Inventory).  

• Record and maintain spreadsheets containing all paint booth, fin press and parts washer chemical usage and air emissions.

• Assist with the administration, implementation and compliance with the ISO14001 and 45001 EHS Management System (acts as the plant management representative).

• Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste program including ensuring the correct handling, packaging, labeling, storage and transportation of waste to approved treatment and/or disposal facilities.  

• Coordinate air emission, wastewater, storm water and waste testing.

• Present safety and environmental training programs to workers and supervisors. Some standardized materials will be made available and development of site-specific training materials will be required.

• Drive Safety Performance in the plant.

• All other duties assigned.

What we look for

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.

• Minimum of one (1) year of Environmental, Health and/or Safety experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

• Must be willing to work 1st shift as well as occasional off-shift work hours.

• Strong technical and analytical skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management, regulators and governmental agencies.

• Ability to describe EHS regulatory requirements to a diverse workforce.

• Ability to work independently to manage workload and prioritize tasks.

• Demonstrated strong organizational and administrative skills.

Preferred:

• Working knowledge and experience with SafeStart, STOP or other behavior-based safety program.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $63,400 to $133,700. In addition, this position offers an additional quarterly Sales Incentive bonus. Health Care Delivery System Expert

Key Role: 

Support federal health research and development (R&D) organizations, including the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Health (ARPA-H), as a Technical Science, Engineering, and Technology Adviser (SETA) for programs related to health care delivery system improvement. Apply scientific subject matter and health care system expertise to help conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded R&D programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. Characterize the state of a technical field, including identifying state-of-the-art technologies and promising new approaches. Perform analyses to recommend ambitious technology performance and cost targets that are on the cutting-edge of what might be achievable. Identify key technical experts across academia, industry, and national labs, perform technical outreach, and facilitate the formation of new multi-disciplinary technical communities. Review highly technical proposals and support negotiations of selected projects, including advising on project plans and technical milestones for complex R&D projects.   

Basic Qualifications:  

• 2+ years of experience working with the U.S. health care delivery system 
• Knowledge of health care providers, insurers, payers, medical suppliers, and medical logistics 
• Ability to brainstorm with other colleagues to find alternative solutions to scientific or technical problems  
• Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines   
• Ability to ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking  
• Ability to obtain a security clearance 
• Master’s degree in Health Care

Additional Qualifications:  

• Experience in support of or related to an Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) organization, including DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, or ARPA-H
• Experience in health economics, health care cost models, and drug pricing 
• Experience in a consulting environment  
• Ability to develop and convey meaningful insights, significant contributions, and recommendations to address complex client issues 
• Ability to learn, grow, and develop new skill sets 
• Ability to display creativity and resourcefulness

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. Job Summary

**THIS IS A TELECOMMUTER ROLE FOR THE NEW MEXICO PLAN**


BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position is a field-based quality position, responsible for supporting HCSC’s Quality imperatives and value-based care models and relationships by collaboratively working with assigned Medical Practices or individual PCPs, the appropriate Medical Directors and clinic Directors and all medical and non-medical quality and other staff to improve key targeted HEDIS measures. This position participates in model/program development, clinical readiness assessments of entity and network management led joint operating committees, obtaining EMR access, implementing provider-based member outreach initiatives and provider supplemental data submissions, and retrieval of key medical records throughout the year. This role provides ongoing and annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the overall quality improvement program for the line of business assigned and is also responsible for creating and maintaining strong working relationships with the Care Coordination/Care Management teams at the value-based entity and internally with local network management and internal clinical operations teams to provide consultative support and ensure day to day operational needs are being met.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
*Registered Nurse (RN) OR Physician's Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner with current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of New Mexico.
*4 years’ experience in health insurance, managed care or medical group experience.
*Knowledge of federal and accreditation standards and regulations for the health insurance industry
*Experience in designing clinical programs
*Experience conducting presentations for member and/or provider training.
*Proven ability to work collaboratively with physicians
*Ability to work independently
*Effective communication and written skills and ability to communicate and influence internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
*PC skills and familiarity with various software packages including spreadsheets and presentations
*Ability to travel 30% including overnight stays.
