We currently have an opportunity to work with adults who require support with communication, eating and drinking and swallowing.

Our Speech and Language Therapy Assistant post is full time and will be based at The Royal Derby Hospital , working across the acute wards, with a range of patients.

This is a six month fixed term contract, funded to support the team during a busy winter period.

• Assist the SLT in providing a clinical service (assessment and treatment) to a SLT caseload
• Weekly assistance in the video fluoroscopy clinic.
• Carry out programmes of therapy under the supervision of the SLT within a clinical team
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records in line with RCSLT professional and Trust standards.
• Participate in training in area of clinical experience
• Demonstrates duties to new starters and less experienced SLTAs, and other support staff.
• Understand the rationale behind therapy tasks and activities set by the SLT based on basic theory of speech language development/breakdown.
• Develop a working knowledge of relevant procedures including safeguarding for children and adults.

The Integrated Sexual Health Services works across mid Nottinghamshire meeting the sexual health and contraception needs for the populations of Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood.
