To contribute to the fulfilment of Aberdeen City Council’s statutory responsibility for delivering Environmental Health Services.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated Environmental Health Officer who can accept and tackle demanding goals to ensure effective service delivery to protect the public health of people who live in, work in or are visiting Aberdeen City.

Based in the Commercial Environmental Health Team, you will be required to undertake the full range of food law activities, occupational health and safety interventions, inspection of vessels requiring ship sanitation certification and responding to licensing consultations

You will be able to communicate effectively with a commitment to quality and customer care. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that statutory requirements are complied with, taking enforcement action where necessary and implementing Council policies, with a view to ensuring that risks to public health and safety are adequately controlled; Encouraging compliance with the law and enhancement of public health through promotion, education and advice at all levels. The post will require occasional out of hours work.

Merseyside Liaison and Diversion RECONNECT - Mental Health Practitioner

We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Reconnect team within the Liaison and Diversion Team.

Liaison and Diversion is a process of supporting people coming through the criminal justice system, and diverting people from this pathway where possible through engagement with service users with vulnerabilities. A significant part of the role is liaising with criminal justice system stakeholders and colleagues to provide advice, guidance and support.

RECONNECT is a care after custody service that seeks to improve the continuity of care of people leaving prison or an immigration removal centre (IRC) with an identified health need. This involves working with them before they leave to support their transition to community-based services.

This post is subject to Police Vetting and an enhanced with children’s and adult’s barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and full NPPV Level 2 Police Vetting.

Liaison and diversion and RECONNECT is a process whereby people of all ages with mental health problems, learning disabilities, substance misuse problems and other vulnerabilities are identified and assessed as early as possible as they pass through the youth and adult criminal justice systems.

You will be expected to work in court, police custody suites and HMP Walton and Altcourse. this role includes working across as well as the wider mental health systems and urgent care division.

You will be a registered practitioner within mental health (Allied Health Professions: Mental Health Nurse; Social Worker; Occupational Therapist; Learning disability Nurse) with demonstrable extensive post registration experience. You will have experience in undertaking specialist mental health assessments and have a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act/Capacity Act and criminal justice system.

Job Purpose: Assist in delivering a comprehensive occupational health service. Protect, promote and enhance the health and wellbeing of the Councils workforce. Providing advice to departmental managers and employees relative to the provision of healthy workplaces and the prevention of work-related ill health. Main Duties: 1. Carry out pre-employment health assessments, including basic functional assessments. 2. Carry out health assessments and welfare checks in relation to employee fitness for work e.g. School Crossing Patrol, Driver checks, Sight/Hearing, Hand Arm Vibration. 3. We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Reconnect team within the Liaison and Diversion Team.

Liaison and Diversion is a process of supporting people coming through the criminal justice system, and diverting people from this pathway where possible through engagement with service users with vulnerabilities. A significant part of the role is liaising with criminal justice system stakeholders and colleagues to provide advice, guidance and support.

RECONNECT is a care after custody service that seeks to improve the continuity of care of people leaving prison or an immigration removal centre (IRC) with an identified health need. This involves working with them before they leave to support their transition to community-based services.

This post is subject to Police Vetting and an enhanced with children’s and adult’s barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and full NPPV Level 2 Police Vetting.

Liaison and diversion and RECONNECT is a process whereby people of all ages with mental health problems, learning disabilities, substance misuse problems and other vulnerabilities are identified and assessed as early as possible as they pass through the youth and adult criminal justice systems.

You will be expected to work in court, police custody suites and HMP Walton and Altcourse. this role includes working across as well as the wider mental health systems and urgent care division.

You will be a registered practitioner within mental health (Allied Health Professions: Mental Health Nurse; Social Worker; Occupational Therapist; Learning disability Nurse) with demonstrable extensive post registration experience. You will have experience in undertaking specialist mental health assessments and have a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act/Capacity Act and criminal justice system.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Scottish Equity Fund (SEF) Team for experienced school leaders to join the team, on secondment for a period of 23 months, as an Education Support Officer (ESO).

The Education Support Officer will work with the SEF leads, Education and Family Managers (EFMs) and other colleagues from across Education and Families and partner organisations to support the delivery of our integrated approach to promoting health and wellbeing and delivering family support to address the poverty related attainment gap. The focus will be on driving forward improvements in Health and Wellbeing approaches with specific improving attendance and health and wellbeing outcomes for learners.

As part of the SEF team the ESO will collaborate and work with colleagues to improve North Lanarkshire Council’s health and wellbeing curriculum and related matters around attendance and engagement with learning. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring all learners develop the necessary resilience, skills and attributes to maximise their attainment and to be able to progress to a positive destination.

The Health and Wellbeing ESO will support effective implementation of the health and wellbeing elements of NLC’s Strategic Equity Fund plan and related strategic plans including the Roadmap Recovery and Children’s Services Plan. This will involve providing a lead role around health and wellbeing, including current curricular content and health and wellbeing and family support interventions. There will be a focus on working with clusters, and their partners, as well as individual establishments to support effective approaches to improving attendance, raising attainment and closing the poverty related attainment gap. The ESO will play a key role in creating, monitoring, and reporting on NLC’s Stretch aims. The ESO will support delivery of approaches to improve attendance to raise attainment and close the poverty related attainment gap.

Supporting the work and development of the Family Engagement Support Assistants, and other integrated family support approaches, will also be a focus for this post. To measure effectiveness, the ESO will gather evidence to measure impact of the work carried out under the Health and Wellbeing workstream and support the SAC Health and Wellbeing Lead in the preparation of reports to Senior Management Team, Programme Boards and the Education, Children and Families Committee.
