In the capacity of a Mental Health Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to provide person-centred care to individuals seeking support on their journey towards community integration. Band 3 Health Care Assistant Children’s Complex Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit Band 3 Health Care Assistants. The team supports children with complex health needs in their own homes and schools. We are looking for confident innovative HCA’s to join our Children’s Complex Care team working across Birmingham.

You will participate in the provision of basic nursing care and specialist care for children who have a range of complex disabilities due to chronic disease, congenital abnormalities, trauma, or who are terminally ill and at the end of their life. The post holder will work as part of the nursing team and supporting the other members of the multi-disciplinary Team. The post holder may be required to work within the service user’s home / a hospital / hospice / school, or day centre environment depending upon their individual needs at that time

The role involves delivering care to children in a variety of settings, including home and school. The successful candidate will be trained in a variety of clinical skills such as gastrostomy feeding, suction, oxygen therapy using a competency based framework. You will received continued support in the role.

You will need a good level of basic education including computer skills and at least NVQ level 3 in a child or young adult related subject or equivalent level of experience related subject. Experience working with children who are ventilated or have complex health problems would be beneficial but not essential. It is also important the successful candidate is innovative in providing play and learning opportunities for the children.

You will need to be flexible in the community setting and a good team player and be able to develop collaborative working relationships with other healthcare professionals, services and agencies.

The Hawthorns team are looking to recruit a health care assistant for 37.5 hours per week.

The team is fast paced community service responding to planned calls.

The service is part of the wider admission avoidance offer and the post holder will be expected to be dynamic in there approach. The health care assistants within the service visit individuals in their own homes, clinics or GP surgeries under the direction of a registered professional. They work in partnership with patients, carers and other health and social care agencies to promote independence and are expected to work multi professionally, support other team members’ roles and contribute to the future development of the service.

The post holder will be expected to work shifts as required across the 7 day period to maintain service provision. Many staff within the service may have a second job or the evening service may be there only role we welcome all appropriate applicants . As an Authorized Representative (AR) of the U.S. Secretary of Labor, the incumbent performs the following duties to promote and enforce mine safety and health compliance within the coal mining industry.

• Conducts special investigations of accidents and fatality disasters after rescue and recovery operations are completed. Secures evidence and maintains a chain of custody, issuing citations or orders resulting from the disaster. Makes determinations regarding possible knowing, willful violations, and participates in civil or criminal proceedings, as necessary.
• As required, independently conducts a wide variety of on-site safety and health inspections and investigations of coal mines, preparation plants, and related facilities.
• Investigates discrimination complaints filed by miners, representatives of miners, or applicants for employment.
• Investigates possible knowing and or willful violations.
• Conducts other investigative activities as the needs of the district dictate.
• Develops unique investigative strategies.
• Collects evidence and facts according to all local, State, and Federal mandates, laws, rules, and/or regulations.
• Maintains control of evidence and confidential statements and other documented facts in accordance with MSHA guidelines, policies, procedures, and mandates.
• Secures evidence, facts, information, reports, and other documentation.
• Analyzes facts and evidence collected during an investigation to assure proper interpretation of said facts and evidence.
