Your new role

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for:

• Managing 3-4 direct reports, and supporting their development and learning
• Producing monthly management account packs
• Managing and reconciling the Profit and Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
• Supplier Income reporting, month end accounting, forecasting, and budgeting
• Provide analysis, insight and informative reporting to support and influence business decisions

• Coordinate year-end audit requests and assist to prepare statutory accounts

• Ad hoc finance projects and analysis

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed, you will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with industry experience. Retail or manufacturing industry experience is desirable. You'll need to be highly numerate with a strong analytical background, as well as an effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders.

Whilst the role is home based, there is a requirement to travel occasionally to Twigworth, Gloucestershire where our Central Office provides financial support, leadership and governance to the group as well as a number of our sites across the country. The Role: As a key member of the Finance Business Partnering Team you’ll be working closely with our Finance Analyst and Financial Controller in supporting one of our Finance Business Partners to ensure that the financial position and forecasting of a number of our services (schools/colleges) within the group is accurately reported. Whilst ensuring our Principals are kept fully abreast of financial matters relating to their site you’ll be expected to help and guide the sites’ leadership teams to maintain good budgetary control; ensuring they are fully versed in their financials and are enabled to make appropriate decisions as a result. For the services you’ll be responsible for; you’ll play a key a role in preparing the month end management accounts (with meaningful commentary and analysis); assisting the Finance Business Partner with the preparation of the annual budgets and monthly reforecasts; help to embed financial controls and processes on site and provide insightful analysis, performance monitoring and financial modelling as appropriate
Skills and Qualifications Experience: Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: AAT Qualified (or studying towards CIMA) preferred. Experience in working in a Finance team, and experience of producing monthly management accounts and reports. Strong IT skills with good knowledge of Excel. High degree of accuracy/attention to detail. Excellent team player with strong communications skills, with an ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial managers. Credibility and confidence to work with senior managers across the organisation. Whilst the role is predominantly home based there will be a need to work from our office in Twigworth when required as well the occasional visits to our services.

We are recruiting for a full-time Finance Assistant - Accounts Receivable, to work in our Finance Department based at the Richmond Campus.
The postholder will be first point of contact for Accounts Receivable queries responding to requests and taking payments at the Finance desk, invoicing and collection of tuition, high needs and other fees, from the College’s students, LAs, sponsors and customer sales invoices. The post holder will also maintain accuracy of student/sponsor records in the College’s finance system and liaise with Admissions/Funding regarding student related bursaries and fees. The postholder will work closely with students, a range of external customers and sponsors, the management accountant, Funding and a range of budget holders and managers.
