Engineering Records Supervisor
RAF Syerston

Full Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)
£29,240 per annum plus benefits
Here at Serco, we support the development of the RAF’s next generation of aircrew, engineers, and air traffic controllers through our unique contract with the Air Cadet organisation. We maintain and manage their fleet of gliders and as our Engineering Records Supervisor you will be responsible for the collation of aircraft engineering data and maintain activity returns, and the population of electronic support and planning files used by the Glider Maintenance Section (GMS) and RAF Viking management authorities.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintaining all records including hard-copy documents and electronic databases pertaining to aircraft including:
- Aircraft Form 700 Section 7
- Record cards and associated documents for each aircraft including Airframe, Engineering, Assemblies, and Components.
- Maintaining an archive of Maintenance Work Orders, Work Packs, and other Life Documents of the Viking Fleet.
- Electronic recording of Flying hours, Launches, Spin data, and Operators.
- Electronic recording of the Application of Special Instructions and Concessions.
- Electronic recording of Faults (Fault Trending) and Locally Manufactured aircraft parts.
- Issue numbers and record Supplementary Maintenance Requirements.
- Ensure aircraft Short Forecast Sheets are reviewed and updated at intervals no greater than next Minor Servicing.
- Liaising with all sections within the GMS to resolve errors made in aircraft documentation.
- Ensuring that F724 Flight Data records are correctly updated and entering the details into the Flight Data Monitoring System (FDMS).
- Producing statistics detailing flying hour/landing/launches monthly.
- Produce aircraft statistical and engineering data as required by the customer or the Company.
What you’ll need to do the role
- Be a Qualified Aircraft Mechanical (Propulsion/Airframe) Technician – (City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent or higher qualification).
- Previous employment within a Continuous Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) is not essential but would be desirable.
- Working knowledge of military or civilian aircraft maintenance documentation and publications.
- Be IT literate (specifically Word and Excel to an advanced level).
- Experience in civilian industry or Armed Forces in a relevant trade group.
- Ideally will have held certifying staff signature authorisation to 3rd signature level within the last 12-months.
- Self-motivated and able to process complex systems and logically think through problems.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and good communication skills.
- Flexible in approach to working hours and a changing environment.
