About the role

The faculty of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Leader in Engineering to join the well-established team. This is an academic and practical teaching role, in which you will work closely with other Programme Leaders and Head of Area for Engineering to provide high quality teaching and learning to a range of differing levels of learners.

Other job duties include:

Undertaking administrative duties related to programme.
Dealing with queries via phone, email, and letter.
Analysing data and producing reports using a range of systems.
Organising meetings, parents’ evening, and other college events.
Completing a self-assessment report to demonstrate academic achievements throughout the year and reflect upon.
Follow a comprehensive disciplinary policy with learners where required.
Maintaining records.

About the person

The successful candidate will have excellent teaching and industrial knowledge with a focus on outstanding teaching and learning.

Candidates should also have:

Level 3 in an Engineering discipline
Level 2 in Maths and English
Industrial knowledge in an Engineering background
Experience of analysing data and writing reports
ICT competency
Desirable to have experience in an educational environment or understand and awareness of the awarding bodies in education

About the role

The Engineering department are now looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic technician to join the well-established team. This is a fast-paced and diverse role, in which you will work closely with Programme Leaders and the head of area to provide high quality and responsive technical support.

Other duties will include:

Undertaking workshop activities, such as setting out for practical sessions.
Order equipment to ensure a readily available supply of materials for lessons.
Maintaining records relating to health and safety, safe systems of work and risk assessments.
Update workshops as required.
Comply with financial regulations and record budget transactions.

About the person

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with a team of engineering Programme Leaders and other technicians within the orginisation.

Candidates should also have:

Level 2/GCSE Maths and English
Level 2 Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification
Prior experience working in a mechanical / electrical engineering environment
Experience of a variety of computer systems.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience and knowledge that will help develop your career.   The Engineering Intern will assist as needed with engineering tasks related to both new product development and support of existing products.   Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):  - Conducting performance tests on competitive products, engineering prototypes, and alpha/beta units.  - Performing research on competitive products, manufacturing methods, and for new product development in general.  - Creating and updating engineering models, drawings, and schematics.  - Creating, implementing and maintaining procedures and work instructions.  - Designing and implementing test fixtures.  - Assembling prototypes and conducting continuous improvement testing.
