We require 1 x Trust Grade F2 Level (Non-Training) doctors to work in Otolaryngology based at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

Although these posts are not recognised for training and cannot be signed off for achievement of core training competencies, you will be encouraged to attend departmental teaching for professional development.

You will work a specialty specific rota Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00 with no out of hours on call. You will be well supported by senior colleagues during your tenure with us.

This post is based at Scunthorpe but there may occasionally be the requirement to provide cover at Grimsby.

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Clinician to manage the Clinical Team in our Options Roxby House Adult Services. The team are based at Roxby House close to Scunthorpe but work across our homes in the area. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Registered Managers and the Locality Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the line management of the members of the onsite clinical team. Working collaboratively with sites across our Adult Services in the Scunthorpe area, you will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention programmes for our service users who present with complex profiles of need as result of learning disabilities, Autism and other types of neurodivergence, trauma and social, emotional and mental health needs.’ You will also be responsible for coordinating the line management of the members of the clinical team.

You will be responsible for holding the therapy caseload with the full support of our well-established and knowledgeable clinical network and growing Clinical Team, you will also contribute to staff training and consultation. The post-holder will work within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures and support the integration of their specific service in the day to day running of each provision i.e., standardised assessments and clinical services. A key aspect of the role will be to deliver informed interventions at a universal, enhanced and specialist level to support our wider teams in meeting our adult’s needs.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing services of, but not limited to – Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational and Sensory Integration Therapy and other appropriate professions as the allocated services require to meet the needs of our people. This role reports directly into our Clinical Lead.

The post is full time but part time options can be considered.

Essential Criteria

Relevant Speech and Language Therapy qualifications and active HCPC registration
Experience of post grad experience within the specialist client group
Experience of multi-professional work
Experience of teaching, training and clinical supervision
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

The post would suite an enthusiastic team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The successful candidate will work alongside consultants and specialty doctors at all times, to train and carry out the following tasks: Undertake a daily ward round of the allocated bed base Review all new medical admissions when rostered within the timeframe of the operational standard for the AAU until patients are either discharged from AAU or transferred to the specialty ward. Manage short stay acute medical admissions Deliver effective, safe, and timely care in line with the operating standards of the AAU Ensure appropriate handover of care at the end of a shift to the next responsible clinicians. Ensure timely completion of all documentation pertinent to an admission, transfer, discharge, or death, in line with hospital standards.
