• Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) multi-functional specialist with professional and technical responsibility for assisting Commanders with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and family needs.
• Utilize computer and web-based resources to identify ACS resources and to develop source lists and reference materials.
• Manage and direct volunteers to promote effective team building and improved business practices.
• Design and establish marketing and public relations strategies to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities.
• Research and write articles on ACS services and activities.
• Conduct unit needs assessments through compiling and analyzing data to provide feedback to the unit Commander and ACS Director.

• Arrange completed food trays on carts for transport to wards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Service

• Serves as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist at the installation level.
• Provides comprehensive and responsive ACS services to the population to include client intake, information and referral, crisis intervention, life skills, and transition service.
• Provides individual and Family consultation services, education, referrals and followup.
• Designs, develops and manages a variety of educational forums and briefings.
• Identifies, advises and consults with leaders on positive sustainable efforts that foster an environment of trust and responsiveness to various organizational quality of life issues.
• Designs and establishes marketing and public relations strategies to ensure target populations are informed of available services and activities.

• Serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support) within the Customer Service and Computing Branch, Enterprise Systems Division, and Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
• Provide Tier II Information Technology support efforts to include, but not limited to the installation and configuration of personal computing hardware and software.
• Provide accurate and timely technical and functional support to customers who require advice, assistance, and training relating to desktop systems.

• Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
• Serves food by order and proper proportion. Break down and cleans tables and area when meal is finished and returns dishes and food to the kitchen area.
• Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs heavy cooking utensils such as mixing bowls or pots. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware. Loads dishwashers.
• Cleans and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash. May unload and store food from delivery trucks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
• Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables. Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters.
• Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables. Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
• Loads and operate dishwashers. Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware. Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls. Cleans and sanitizes trashcans; disposes of trash.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Serves as a Food Service Specialist at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
• Coordinates the Nutrition Care Supply needs daily with supply personnel/food service contract staff and conducts monthly physical inspections.
• Determines menu item popularity percentages based on review and analysis.
• Receives and reviews changes, or updates to master menu.
• Analyzes daily production reports to ensure correct ingredients are printed for recipes in sizes and units on hand.
• Works with Clinical Dietitian to ensure all items and recipes include accurate and up to date nutritional links and allergen information.
• Prepares typed letters, reports and other correspondence using office automation and attends menu planning meetings.

• Troubleshoot system software and hardware problems, and/or maintain liaison with vendor service representatives on system failures.
• Monitor system and/or databases to ensure maintenance of technical accuracy and efficiency.
• Utilize knowledge to balance user requirements for available resources and/or organizational goals.
• Develop strategic plans for software utilization and functional implementation plans relative to applicable systems integration.
• Use government supplied helpdesk software to annotate, track, and/or report completion of requests from users for technical assistance on all automated data processing devices.

Sets up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages. Serves food cafeteria style. Breaks down and cleans area when meals are complete. Sets up dinning room tables for service, places food and beverages on tables, and replenishes items as necessary. Sets up and operates dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours and scrubs bowls, pots and pans. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area.

Assembles and tosses fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings, serves into standard serving sizes. Makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. Makes coffee, tea and other beverages.
