Project Manager
Murphy is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our new United Utilities Enterprise Partnership in the North West, UK. The Project Manager will lead and be accountable for the project, ensuring that the scope of works is delivered in a safe manner, on time, to the required quality standards, meeting the acceptance criteria and achieving the expected financial outcomes. What you will be doing
- Plan and deliver all work on a medium sized site or many smaller sites, ensuring work is completed on time and to the correct standard.
- Ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed and delivered.
- Build and develop the wider operational team to deliver all aspects of the project/contract requirements.
- Line management of Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers.
- Responsible for effective client relationship management and provides updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.
- Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
- Ensures operating plans are in place to ensure sufficient resources and materials are in place.
- Responsible for a contract with an indicative turnover of between £1M
- £15M per annum
- Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.
Who we’re looking for
- Successful experience as a Project Manager with demonstrable acumen to deliver a good profit margin
- Previous experience on a water/utilities project worth £15 million +
- Proven ability to lead teams and performance manage
- IT literate: Microsoft Office etc
- Experience of planning and estimating
About the Project The investment for 2025-2030 is United Utilities biggest ever environmental programme to deliver cleaner rivers and more reliable water supplies. Delivering circa £3bn of major infrastructure and non-infrastructure programmes, the work will include upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing spills from storm overflows.
