We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our dynamic team. The individual will be responsible for day-to-day management of Customer Agreements, Supply Contracts, Partnership Agreements, joint venture agreements, and other agreements in our business. This role plays the key figure supporting negotiations and be responsible for managing the contracting process of the deals, which involves preparing, reviewing, negotiating and executing range of contracts. This person would also need to work closely with legal counsels, commercial and operations team to facilitate successful contracting processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the contract negotiation, finalization and execution for all contracts & agreements
• Ensures contract amendments and reviews are monitored, gathered and acted upon as appropriate
• Identify and maintain an updated facts traceability by ensuring that contract documentation is carried out systematically, e.g. assist to set up system to maintain contractual records and ensure adequate processes and policies are in place; proper filing of all contractual documents (hardcopy and softcopy)
• Advising commercial and sales operations team on the contractual entitlements and opportunities to protect cash flow, margins, and prevention of disputes;
• Coordinate with the sales operations team to identify customer related actions or inactions which could result in constructive contract changes;
• Analyze the contract risks, encourage and communicate the key contractual provisions to the team, e.g. qualifying for payment, variations and timely compliance with contractual requirements;
• Support the Operations Head and Finance to uncover potential issues regarding billing and/or collection of contractual revenue;
• Advising and actively supporting the commercial department on contractual claims from/to suppliers and customers
Preferred Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree or Masters’ Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience working in a high-achieving sales environment
• Paralegal experience and/or commercial law and technology transfer certification, or equivalent work experience would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of research contracting terms, good understanding of data privacy laws (Singapore and International); and appreciation of the sustainability ecosystem
• Good contract negotiation skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills
• Critical thinking skills, identify business, legal and financial implications of the different contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with an eye for detail
• Versatile in working independently as well as an effective team player
