Industrial Design & Architecture Engineer
As an Industrial Design & Architecture Engineer, you will be supporting the Top Company Objectives of improving the design of plants, stations to support the Industrial system in the ramp up for existing programs and create a robust and resilient Industrial system for future generation of Aircraft.
The profile involves working with the Industrial DMU, preparing related methodology documentation. Defining, developing and deploying the Industrial systems and digital twin capabilities in the frame of digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Creating best practices to assist the Industrial teams from conceptual design through the finished industrial system.
The individual gets the opportunity to work on the entire spectrum of programs from the existing Airbus Aircraft fleet (A320, A330 , A350) to the Zero-E programs.
Required skills and experience:
Digital Manufacturing & Industry 4.0: Experience as a Digital Manufacturing Engineer to work on Industry 4.0 technologies and reach the ambition towards digital twin. The Scope of activities involves:
Design Plant Layouts as per different rate of production along with 3D simulations for logistics and Human path validation.
Iterate on alternate solutions and execute trade off with different simulation Industrial KPIs.
Define forward and inverse kinematics to conceptualize new Jig designs and perform 3D Flow Simulation
Automate Industrial system design with Robotics simulations (Material handling, spot welding, Arc Welding).
Ergonomic analysis and evaluation for health and safety of workers.
Design change, release process and Configuration Management within industrial setup.
Augmented / Virtual Reality for station and Jig design validation.
Manufacturing Engineering:
Use ME Shopfloor Knowledge/Experience to implement Lean manufacturing while designing/improving Industrial system.
Use Industrial Engineering principles in order to define the best suitable layout with most optimized processes which will adhere to the target Takt.
Build sequence Creation/validation.
Good level of GD&T knowledge to understand and implement industrial tolerancing.
Knowledge on reading design / manufacturing drawings to understand or design 2D/3D Layouts, Jigs and Tools.
Develop NC Programming and Simulation to deploy on the shop floor.
Industrial Architecture:
Technically lead development projects from conceptual phase of R&T (of tomorrow) projects until implementation fostering co-design approach
Stakeholder management to drive architecture projects to meet requirements reaching best performance
Capture and analyze stakeholder needs, defining architectural solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations
Align architecture strategy with the organization's business goals and long-term strategic planning
Best to have Airbus product knowledge of different programs along with basic knowledge on Structural assembly and Systems design (Electrical System Integration/ Mechanical System Integration)
It is not expected for one person to have all the above skillset. The job requires the basic level of understanding of the above.
The Job role would also give exposure to different career paths under the perimeter of the Industrial system such as Industrial Digital Mockup, Ergonomist (Health & safety), Robotic Simulation, Jigs & Tools design plus its tolerancing.
