As we continue to expand our digital health technologies across the Trust, we have recognised the importance of keeping patient safety at the forefront of how these are implemented. We are building a new team to lead on Digital Clinical Safety and this administration and team support role will be a key member, working to ensure patient safety continues to remain our top priority.

What we will need from you, however, is a willingness to learn and be adaptable as the team develops a comprehensive application of digital clinical safety in practice. Full training will be provided for you (both formal and informal), and you will be well supported by the Digital Clinical Safety Manager, as well as Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts too.
It is a permanent role, but there may be the option for us to consider a secondment opportunity if you are an existing member of staff.
The post holder will help ensure that the administration of digital clinical safety is the overarching priority within the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme and wider clinical IT projects. Using evidence based and collaborative practice, work with clinical safety practitioners and project leads / teams to identify and complete the associated administration activities and documentation aligned to the project life cycle and gateways.
The Digital Clinical Safety Administration Support Officer role is open to clinical and non-clinical persons and backgrounds, who can demonstrate a willingness to learn, are eager to gain knowledge and develop project and patient safety skills. The role will be supported by the Digital Clinical Safety Manager, Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SME) and provided with formal / informal training and coaching to develop and maintain expertise and support clinical safety activities in practice.

To contribute to the smooth running of the digital clinical safety team, functions and processes. This will include management of the team email inbox, determine urgency and importance and highlight where necessary to the manager or other team members.
First point of contact for digital clinical safety team enquiries and the key point of contact for the generic email inbox requiring clear communication and liaison skills.
Manage and update clinical IT repositories with associated digital clinical safety documentation. Manage and maintain digital clinical safety templates and supporting materials.
Using templates and Cornwall IT Services clinical risk management processes, support the creation of the clinical risk management plan and all associated documentation required that will be used within a project.
Use of Datix WEB and running reports from the system to enable incident reviews and themes relating to use of technology in practice. Contribute and support digital clinical safety reporting, internal and external to Cornwall IT Services.
Attend meetings as requested to support in comprehensive and accurate minute taking and recording actions.
Complete any other administrative tasks including meeting management i.e., agendas and materials, room bookings and diary management, required to support the team in a timely manner.
